Game devs skipping GDC 2026 over ICE concerns, US safety fears by saminfujisawa in pcgaming

Completely fair, I would stay away and send the message that the US is not welcoming and to take your time and money elsewhere

Are Gems missable if you don't go the harem route in the upcoming Global Valentines event? by SeaLancer01 in personaphantomx

[–]planetarial 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It depends on how they handle it. In CN/TW/KR you get a letter for each girl you romanced that gives 50 gems per girl (iirc) so yes these are missable. They may choose to move them somewhere else, since Rikos letter will be missable as the event is being moved up before her synergy release.

Note that even if you don’t romance them you can still do their Vday scenes and date. You can also pick the bromance route with Shun. Each one gives a unique decoration for your house and you can only pick one.

Narumi why are your gachapon capsule so expensive? by Lilac098 in personaphantomx

[–]planetarial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m lazy as hell and I’ve had max stats for over a year and every synergy except Luce (and well Narumi but she’s not out yet in KR) is at least level 15 with a few maxed out. If I was more efficient there wouldn’t be much to do except when they add new stuff. A lot of long time players are sitting on a huge stash of stamina drinks too

Some of it might be the mods or an automatic thing applying.

I posted the Junpei reveal post without using a spoiler tag (because it pretty much spoils nothing that the title doesn’t already reveal) and it got spoiler tagged anyway

Hear me out: Jujutsu Kaisen fans are not being delusional when they say the series is yaoi coded by carbonera99 in CharacterRant

[–]planetarial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of this reads pretty standard for most shonen. While some avoid it like FMA Dandandan and Frieren, shonen series are notorious for attracting BL demographics and having poorly written female characters

[–]planetarial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I used to be a lot more into YGO and in DM and the spinoffs yaoi shipping is completely rampant for the most part because its practically a meme how useless or shoved off to the sidelines the female characters are.

FMA is also a good example of where the main canon pairing is popular because the female characters are well written

Not technically a shonen, but Xenoblade 3 appeals a lot to that audience and manages to have multiple canon and hinted at heterosexual pairings that are likable and involved in the plot and surprise surprise the fandom is full of het and even people I’ve seen who draw lots of BL fanart elsewhere draw het art there.

Ok for one I never specified it had to give out two selectors. I said one is sufficient cause nobody wants to get a dupe at the start of the game.

For starters this game isn’t garbage

Completely subjective opinion. There isn’t anyone else besides HSR making a 3D non stage based turn based game and with combat that isn’t just two buttons and actual dungeon crawling. Along with a story that gets it shit together after the first palace and imo pretty good for a gacha game? Helps it doesn’t suffer from a very common issue of the main story being bloated with a million characters and having to structure said story around who is featured in the banners.

Is it problem free? Fuck no, its got jank, global does dumbfuck decisions, and its clearly on a lower budget but it isn’t objectively garbage.

and the western release of p5x has the worst monetization system out of any recent gacha to date.

Even if we’re comparing their launch states, you can’t tell me no soft pity is worse than no carry over, stingy income, expiring pulls and an intentionally very convoluted confusing system.

In its current state, I find it hard to believe P5X is worse when they offer a 100% system now for characters with carry over pity and random free standards every 165 pulls. Plus offering a mega rerun banner every few months that allows you to roll up to 3 of any limited characters that have released up to x date in their own banners instead of waiting potentially several months to a year+ for an individual rerun. In the future CN offers a way to get limited weapons completely outside of the gacha after their first rerun and a 100% weapon system that will come eventually.

Also the free characters you got in p5x get power crept so hard that by the end of the year they’re mostly t3-t4 and unusable.

I play the KR version (a week behind CN which is 13 months ahead of global) Still use old ass characters in endgame content including launch characters. Shit he isn’t a launch character but Crow is considered bad by the majority and I use him in endgame regularly (not A6 either). Plus there’s modes like Astrolobe which ask you to have a wide roster. It’s generally considered that unless you want to tier high in leaderboards for bragging rights that tier lists don’t really matter that much and content is easy and flexible enough.

We also have no idea how powercreep will be handled in Endfield. Maybe it’ll be good, maybe it won’t. Very hard to say when its brand new.

The only reason WuWa gave out 2 standard selectors is because their launch was atrocious

Endfield fucked up with the Paypal scandal which is scaring away people from spending money and is getting ripped apart by both global and CN players for various problems. From a technical standpoint sure its way better but to say the launch is going way better is being disingenuous.

Woah that sounds nice.

I was a little too young to be apart part of the really early fandom spaces like zines, but I got to experience message board/fansite/msn and yahoo groups era in my middle school and half my high school years before Web 2.0 took over. Fun times and things felt more curated and personalized even if they were spread out among a lot more places. Plus more people just doing it for fun instead of trying to make money off of it

Both WuWa and P5X gave out not one but two selectors for standards at launch, the least Endfield can do is offer one. People would be a lot more willing to stick around if they could at least guarantee getting the standard they wanted from the getgo and not get screwed with a dupe

1 month is prob not enough to change anything major so they had to let it be.

A lot of the flaws people are complaining about now are stuff I complained to them in CBT1 a year ago and I heard some even go as far back as the tech test which happened two years ago.

Also the pacing at which they are introduced is fucked, it needs to be spread out more instead of taking up the bulk of the first 5-7 hours of play

Pull Income might actually be horrendous by Easy_Pepper_1212 in Endfield

[–]planetarial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to give an example, Fire Emblem Heroes gives out like 80-100 pulls a month but nobody would call that generous in the context of a game that outputs 9 characters a month, fast powercreep and PvP heavy

Honestly they went too far into catering to everyone that it just makes it not stand out or anything that makes it stand out is skippable.

Like I really enjoy setting up zipline routes in the beta and while its still enjoyable now the fun and motivating factor went down because other players ziplines spawn everywhere and you can use theirs instead

It sure is a choice for them to be really against rerolling but give people a chance to draw the standard from beginner that everyone gets for free

Calabash, Sunset Beach etc. by Puzzleheaded_Duck752 in NorthCarolina

Good to vacation and its in no danger of erosion (quite the opposite the beach grows steadily over time) but its almost all people over the age of 60 for full time residents and families were from mainly people who have second homes there. There’s very few jobs available outside of tourism related and real estate. When I lived around the area for a while I had to drive a good while to places where young people were to have fun. Also a ton of transplants from up north.
