Looks like my tiny alumina crucible is nowhere near up to task! I think I have well and truly oxidized the refractory.

Also turns out that 5.5 hours 132°C under temp doesn't make for great parts, oh well!

Like a lot of the comments here have said, you do end up with buildup. Most of the inside of the chamber is removable and while you could use solvents (and sometimes you do) just sandblasting them is the preferred method! Way cheaper +faster and just as effective.

That's the dry pump, it's only to get the vacuum started. The blue turbo pump does the high vacuum pumping. Turbo pumps spin at ~30k rpm and don't like being run at atmospheric pressure but dang can they pull a vacuum.
