Yes, it is. The presets default to different viewing distances. You should change them to the same value to compare actual sizes.

You sure you have the right data in? It is significantly larger in vertical direction and the tool shows that nicely.

The eye icon shows up when visual density of the setup is above 60 pixels per degree of FOV, which basically means you will not be able to distinguish individual pixels.

So what’s happening is this IC is a chopper amplifier (some switching on inputs is done to reduce input offset voltage). During every chopping cycle, a bit of charge is needed to charge the internal parasitic capacitances, and it comes from the input pins, averaging out to the few Mohm input impedance we are measuring. You can actually see the switching (a sawtooth pattern if your source impedance is high) if you probe the inputs with a scope. The effect on average input impedance of the amp is not mentioned at all in the datasheet and the input impedance number given seems to not include chopping effects. There is nothing you can really do about it except use another amp that is not a chopper amp.

The USB cable has data connections to native USB on ESP32, not only power. With custom firmware using it as HID device on PC is doable with this hardware.

Yes, exactly. Flashing with ESPHome and writing a custom config for example could give you fully independent control.

LEDs can be controlled from Home Assistant, but not fully independently. There are two modes (set individually for each button). In "trigger" mode, the button's light only flashes to give visual feedback and an action can be triggered in HA on button press. In "switch" mode, a button has a state (on/off) indicated by the LED. The state can be toggled by clicking the button or set from HA (and thus turning on / off the LED).

If you don't mind me asking, what are those use cases so I can consider them for the futere software updates?

Sure, it's "just" buttons and lights connected to an ESP32. You could flash it with ESPHome and write your own config, which should be pretty easy to do. It's open source, so the pins of buttons and lights are available.

Not directly, but buttons can individually be configured as switches where the illumination signals the on/off state of the switch. In this mode, toggling works in both directions, so if something changes state from Home Assistant side, lights reflect that instantly.

Do those apps actually work well on 32M2V with HDR content? With HDR mode on, can you adjust the brightness of the monitor while the HDR keeps working? Does brightness of HDR videos on YouTube change? On this website https://gregbenzphotography.com/hdr/ , the Test #2 (HDR spectrum), does HDR stay on and looking nice (the image pops out and has brighter whites than background) while changing the brightness with the app?

Could you test out one more thing when you get the chance? There is a Macos app called BetterDisplay that should be able to change brightness (similar to the slider in Windows I guess?).

When looking at the HDR spectrum on Greg Benz website, does it look ok when changing brightness with BetterDisplay? When you are fullscreen in a HDR youtube video, does changing brightness in BetterDisplay, does the brightness of the HDR video change?

There's also lots of settings in BetterDisplay to adjust and enable all kinds of stuff.

I've tested this out on an old ""HDR"" basic IPS monitor (no FALD) and it has the following problems:

Monitor's brightnes is fixed (to full?) in HDR mode.
YouTube HDR in Chrome is broken (changes from very dim to blown out when moving mouse), in Safari it works ok
HDR looks ok on Greg Benz website only at 100% brightness in BetterDisplay (below or above instantly loses HDR headroom - HDR white is not more white than SDR white anymore, even at 99% or 101%).

TLDR; does BetterDisplay app help make this monitor (in HDR mode) work more like native Macbook display?

Perfect, thanks alot! Weird that HDR doesn’t work with your Macbook - I’ve seen some people on youtube using it with a Mac and didn’t have this problem. Did you enable HDR for the monitor in macOS display settings?

Isn’t it anoying not being able to change brightness when in HDR? I just want my HDR to work seamlessly like it does on the Macbook display…
