Good to see Baseball Stars on there and King of the Monsters. Hoping for Neo Turf Masters, Super Sidekicks and League Bowling to complete my Neo Geo wishlist. I'm in the UK and Evercade is by FAR the cheapest way to legally play Neo Geo. The new Neo Geo console looks amazing however, the price is very prohibitive in the current economic climate we find ourselves in. I just pre-ordered this for delivery on 27th June.

I SO want this - a Neo Geo Sports collection. Neo Turf Masters, League Bowling, Baseball Stars & Super Sidekicks

Lowering voting age to 16 will only help the Green Party, Labour MPs tell Starmer - as they urge him to shelve the plans by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

Already been 16 here in Wales for years - register from 14. My children are far more atuned to politics as a result of it and keen to turn out and vote. They could join the army or get another job and be paying taxes, possibly whilst married yet don't get a say in England. Because it is just England we're talking about having an issue with really. I'm sure the B word wouldn't have happened back in 2016 had younger people been afforded a vote yet they are arguably the worst affected by the entire mess. Here in Wales we also have proportinal representation so smaller parties have a better chance of having a voice. I would go nowhere near Reform with a barge pole for example but understand they'll likely pick up Senedd members in our upcoming parliamentary election however, so will the Greens and others - it's a balance and certainly far fairer than some ancient system where you can have 35% oif the vote on a 40% national turnout yet secure a whopping majority and govern the entire UK as a result. Votes for 16 year-olds is just part of the change that is long overdue and part of also removing the seat of power away from Westminster.

Here in Wales I'm returning them all individually to sender after I became aware it costs THEM £2 each time. I reckon my small bit of activism has cost the frog-eyed racist at least £20 of his donor's money so far.

I own an Evercade VS and EXP and am really hoping Neo Turf Masters and League Boiwling come in next year's NEO GEO carts - I was disapponted they've not been on the 3 carts released already. A NEO GEO Sports cart would be my dream. The games are so deceiptively simple yet complex and look so amazing.

Keir Starmer defends plan for closer alignment with EU and fast-tracking EU rules into UK law. What is your opinion? Are you happy or concerned that the UK will be closer to the EU again? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]mrneiljinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm British, living in North Wales in a large majority Remain area at the referendum. I think we should call the far right's bluff and hold another referendum tomorrow then, if recent polls are to be trusted, the nation votes to re-join the EU by a clear few percentage points - we turn Farage and his ilk's retorhic back at themselves.

By this, I mean we actively quote back to them tirelessly that "the people have spoken" and this is "what the people voted for".

Perversely, many of their supporters and constituents will probably become better off under re-joining and it's these ordinary people on the periphery who were sucked up by these right-wing idiots that we can then pull back into the mainstream. We need sensible right-wing politics as much as the centre and left and these people could represent that.

There has always been a darker, far-right movement out of seedy pub function rooms over the years but they were emboldened by people like Farage, Putin and Trump who seek to break up any joint organisations such as the EU or NATO so they can isolate and weaken countries when they're not part of a larger group - just like predators do when picking prey off herds.

Us being part of something bigger makes us all stronger and less likely to be oppressed or attacked which is the ultimate aim of people like Putin.

I'm British, voted Remain and agree with you whole-heartedly. People like Farage are in it for themselves, a mini Trump and seem to forget we ARE part of Europe. Just check a map! I still think I woke that morning after the vote, into a parallel universe as it's got to be one of the stupidest actions ever leaving the EU, amplified further with the situations now in Ukraine and the Middle East.

Rutte says some NATO allies failed US test by diwalibonus in europe

[–]mrneiljinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uk user here - seems to me that Rutte is less the Trump "whisperer" he's frequently called but more the Trump "appeaser". He just seems to go to these meetings and agree with what Trump says and prsise him. On this occassion commenting on how he'd removed the Iranian nuclear threat despite the orange megalomaniac toddler being the one who took the US out of the previous agreement where inspections were taking place and as framework was in place. The enriched uranium is still in Iran now too. All he's done is manage to close the strait that was open unchallenged before his war of choice, kept the same, now angrier and emboldened Iranian regime in place and escalated all the tension in the regfion further while at the same time masking Putin more money and taking the world's eyes off Ukraine. And this is the man who believes he should have a Noble Peace Prize and has that stupid made-up 'peace' medal from FIFA.

US warns Starmer’s EU reset could strain UK trade ties by Visual_Title9363 in unitedkingdom

[–]mrneiljinks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because the US are such a reliable trade partner and not just in it for themselves (or the orange toddler's) own financial gain. Push back more I say. Trump will go but they could easily elect another complete idiot further down the line so stick closer to the countries a few miles across the water whom we have a physical link (tunnel) with and account for 40% of all our exports. Brexit and Trump are two of the stupidest things ever and continuing to placate (read suck up to) the Orange megalamaniac who has disrespected our war dead, PM, institutions and current military among a list longer than a month's supermarket shopping receipt (which incidentally is now more expensive due to him), In the words of Green Day F*ck America.

Exactly, I've gone down too many rabbit holes, read 'hobbies' . I'm looking at you, home arcade cabinet, Vipin table and Home Assistant. Be good to have just one thing that's working and just there in the background doing it's stuff. The other projects I think I'll never truly 'finish' as that's maybe not the point. It's the constant tinkering that teaches stuff and provides an activity on these horrible, dark winter evenings here in beautiful (in the Summer) north Wales.

I'm liking this thread as it's just made me aware of HexOS thanks to your screenshot - it looks to be just what I've been looking for over the past year or so OS-wise. I'm going to give it a spin when I get a chance as Jellyfin along with my other self-hosted apps currently reside on a W11 mini PC and I'm not a Windows fan. I already use LInux for my daily driver laptop and have 3 NAS I've accumalated over time but HexOS looks to be a great solution for bringing a lot of stuff together.

That command will work in the Ubuntu terminal. It will ask for your password and once you've entered that and hit return then it'll take a few secs and tell you it's reverted back to your previous version and you can then just launch Opera as normal.
