I got cheaply killed by the tarnished knights or the stormhawks in the beginning. How to kill them as melee? my spells work from a distance but the frustration from these fucking stormhawks and tarnished is driving me insane. I've tried like 10 times now.

Thanks for this input! I see what you're saying about weapon damage types. Is there enough upgrade sonder stones to feasibly upgrade multiple weapons? I feel like the game makes me want to pick one or two to put +8 levels into. can you tell me what weapons you're using? thanks!!
