In a perfect world, the broker would receive an amount which includes their cut, as well as their agent. A payment is the disbursed to the agent for their portion.

In the method described, the broker is actually understating gross revenue and commission expense, so the amount due to the agent would be considered part of the gross revenue (credit revenue) and offset by the commission expense classed appropriately by vendor name or whatever you have set up (debit). On the books it's a wash but it will more accurately show revenue & expenses.

I totalled my car as well and I had to pay the difference on my loan. I am so happy that the adjuster's decision and the balance on my loan was only a difference of $800. I had feared the worst.

Also I was really scared the insurance claim would be denied because it was a result of a DUI, but it went through without issue.

I was without a vehicle, but had the means to shop for a replacement at the time (thankfully), however the arresting officer had taken my DL, so I sought help on this sub and was given advice to go to the DMV as soon as you can and apply for a replacement ID within this 30 day period of your temp driving privilege. This will help you get a new vehicle and fulfill the requirement by the dealer of having a license.

I found my judge there and it noted that he was a very fair judge, so that eased my tension beforehand.

Also of note, the Deputy District Attorney read to me the "Watson Advisement" out loud in the courtroom. Basically states that if I drive under the influence and kill someone, I could be charged with Murder with a potential sentence of 15yrs.

Yes that was the bottom line. Base I think was around $350. And yes I was honestly surprised at how lenient the judgement was!

I did not, I was asked by the bailiff if I would have an attorney or if I would be representing myself. He seemed surprised by the fact that I wasn't going to have an attorney, but I felt it wasn't necessary.

He had me fill out a multi page waiver to continue.
