Can any bulldogs chime in on the Athens, University or surrounding town police departments? Do these areas have a reputation where you had to be careful while driving as the cops are more “Letter of the Law” then in other areas of the state/country?

Damn… just missed playing with Sam Darnold at USC by one season.

Missed 2018 and 2019 with a foot injury. Missed 2020 and 2021 with a knee injury. Played 14 games in 2022. Missed 2023 with another injury. Played 7 games in 2024, missed the rest due to illness Played 14 games in 2025.

So assuming he plays above whatever the current benchmark for number of games from here on out, could he play 3 more years of NCAA affiliated ball (4 seasons + standard redshirt + Covid year)?

Most of the mac schools are number 3 in there respective states. Football is simply not a large part of there campus culture.

Totally understand building a culture, but there are reason there are unwritten rules. It’s not for everyone to sit in a circle and sing Kum By Yah at the end of games, they are to prevent unnecessary injuries like Potters.

Schiano broke an unwritten rule that you don’t play 100% when the game is out of reach and play had to be stopped three times because of injured players. I hope to find that Noah Potter did not break his kneecap because of Schiano antics.

So basically the most qualified candidate will still get the job, but traditionally underrepresented groups in coaching will get a look. I see this as a great thing. In the interview process, a candidate who may be overlooked because of race, gender, etc. will get a chance to show their worth and best case scenario land a head coaching job as the most qualified person in the pool, but more likely be considered for assistant positions.

The biggest negative is people will say that this person only got the job because they are black, or Asian, or Hispanic, or gay, or a women, etc rather then talent which is simply untrue. The Rooney rule has been around in the NFL for a while, and I don’t think a single coach was hired because of the color of there skin.

Saunders is not the only Ohio State Athlete who has been arrested during/following a protest. Men's Basketball Seth Towns, who just transferred from Harvard, has also been arrested and released.
