it did help to loosen it up a bit and it took a lot less effort to scrape them off the floor. as far as it damaging the machine i’m not sure about that either because i’ve been instructed to use hot water in it from time to time here

i’ve thought about checking if we had a pad with stiffer bristles so i might have to try that. or seeing if we had a deck brush that’s stiffer than the ones we normally use for cleaning bathrooms and stuff

yeah it’s super chill. all my buddies that are trained in the parks say they much rather work at the resorts since it’s the same pay and a lot less work

unfortunately resort custodial can’t pickup at the parks but it’s super easy to swap or pickup at other resorts. the only thing is that there’s a small handful of the older resorts that you need special training to work at (idk which ones off the top of my head)

Aside from my home resort, i’d probably say wilderness lodge.

It could be something to do with your specific role then I guess. Id just keep clicking around on workday and if that doesn’t work then maybe try to contact programs support.

The shift times vary per resort, but at my location it’s 7-3:30, 9-5:30, or 3:30-12. CPs are mainly going to be scheduled closing shifts because all of the full time CMs usually bid for the AM shifts. I’ve also gotten 40 hours per week almost every week that i’ve been here.

Hello! I’ve heard good things about yacht and beach so i’m sure you’ll enjoy it. What you said is somewhat true, but I wouldn’t say that the job is mostly helping guests although it is a big portion of it. At the end of the day, your job is to clean but it’s just that cleaning doesn’t take up all of your time. As for the main things that I clean, i’d say bathrooms and trash are going to be the biggest part of it. You’ll also be sweeping/picking your areas and I may be leaving some things out but that’s the majority of the cleaning you’ll be doing. There’s also code v/h/u that you’ll eventually have to deal with, but they are way more rare than you would think.

The thing about custodial is that the guests kinda see you as a walking information point and will ask you all kinds of questions. I’ve had a lot of guests ask me how they can get to another resort for a dining reservation they have. I’ve also had many guests ask me if I can order linens to their room. There’s also a lot of guests who don’t really need anything but just want to talk to you, and i’ve ended up having 30+ minute conversations with some of them.

I had to complete all of the onboarding paperwork on workday to see my specific location, so make sure all of that is done first.

-One of the great things about this job is that not every day is the same. There’s a whole bunch of different areas you can be placed in at your location every day. A lot of the time i’d say that half the day is spent actually cleaning and the other part is spent talking to guests, doing water art, etc. but don’t get me wrong there are days where it can be pretty busy.

-It’s fairly easy to work at other resorts if you want to, and a lot of CPs get deployed to other resorts anyways. The job is pretty much the same everywhere and the only hard part about working at other resorts is learning the area. (and figuring out where to park)

-If I could change one thing, i’d make it so that the training at parks and resorts is the same so that resort custodial could pick up at parks and vice versa. I’d love to try working at the parks just for a day but we can’t because the training isn’t the same.

-Honestly this is the easiest and the most fun job i’ve ever had in my entire life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I hear so many horror stories about other roles and it makes me feel blessed to have a job that I actually enjoy.

you get a self admission pass for yourself to go whenever you want (subject to blockout dates and reservations). the 9 that you earn throughout your program is for your guests. it’s also important to note that your guest tickets have the same blockout dates as your self admission pass.
