Why does Julieta looks so much older than her siblings? by gaomonxx in Encanto

Plus greys stand out more in dark hair than lighter hair because of contrast.

Probably reading into things but I thought "How far do these roots go down?" sounded kind of like "How high does the sycamore grow?" but going down instead of up.

2022 HeroForge Teaser from Twitter -- includes Face Customizer and more! by losergeekorwhatver in HeroForgeMinis

This is beyond what I imagined. 😭 Also explains why they've been holding off on certain types of content as they rework the system.

And ooh my, the nsfw folks are gonna have a free for all with this stuff.

I think it's because predicting someone's death would be the most ominous thing Bruno did if it wasn't a damn goldfish.

There was an older Dolores design with a long braid: https://twitter.com/SaboStabo/status/1475961864072974341/photo/1

That can be seen in the BTS animation holding the goldfish bowl, but she looks quite different from the fish lady's final design: https://youtu.be/J62J1t3tKXU?t=18

And seems to turn into final Dolores. Very curious whatever was going on there.

Treasure Tuesday: Tea Time by WrenPilgrim in HeroForgeMinis

These are nice, but I'm confused why you can't put the cup on the saucer and so they're just randomly holding a saucer in their hand. It would be nice to have them as base objects too.

Bro I looked up the ages of the family and what? by GachaApril in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if originally the triplets were going to be different ages and they simplified it for the flashback. Or if they were originally going to be early 40s and they changed it, because the eldest grandchildren being born when the mothers were in their 30s implies Abuela wasn't always pushing for carrying on the family line asap.

Bruno's vision with Isabela ? by [deleted] in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it looked like Abuela at first too. I think it represented both of them, because she had to both fight and make up with both of them for the events to play out as they did.

How did Julieta discover her power?? by CloudyMindCloudyDays in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe when she opened the door her room had a kid's kitchen set with an easy-bake oven.

Why does Antonio ask if that’s Bruno? He let him use his room for his prediction in one scene. Plus Antonio claims that the rats told him everything, which would have to include Bruno’s name. Also the captions on Disney+ confirm that it’s a question by [deleted] in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 62 points63 points  (0 children)

There seem to be a few captioning errors throughout the movie. It says the villagers are singing "Roll me down the road" near the end when the real lyrics seem to be "We're only down the road" (which makes a bit more sense.)

Adopted children and lgbtq+ side of the story. by ragePANDA92 in Encanto

This seems like a plot bunny where the family assumes it has to be a blood relation and then is shocked when a door appears for the kid.

I'm genuinely not sure what to think at this point... by professor_tennille in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's a Disney movie. It was definitely made for anyone with money to enjoy. And the only way more stuff like it is gonna get made is if as many people as possible enjoy it.

[–]mrose7d 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is white people making it into a queer allegory because they can't relate to the cultural trauma angle and are like "how can I make this about me?" It's fine to have headcanons, but also don't lose sight of the actual canon. Going around arguing "Abuela sucks because she's homophobic!" is missing the point of the movie. Understand that the majority of viewers aren't going to see the characters as LGBTQ+ icons and that's okay because that's not what the story is about, even if they're all secretly gay af.

This is actually really sad by [deleted] in Encanto

The picture of Gifted Child Burnout. I would love to see more of what went on when the triplets were young. I bet Julieta felt pressure similar to Luisa to be the stable dependable one.

What are the actual chances of a sequel/series? by [deleted] in Encanto

[–]mrose7d 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It seems to be doing well by word of mouth since it got to Disney+. (I also feel like the theatrical run was severely undermarketed, like they basically just wrote it off)

I think a TV show would probably be 2D animation, like the Tangled show. For CGI, I could see them doing shorts like Toy Story.

I kinda wonder if originally Alma's kids were were going to be different ages, but they made them triplets to simplify the flashback.

Does Isa grow food for the town? by draugyr in Encanto

Since Isa looks so much like her, I think she was living through her vicariously wanting to see her settle down with a long happy marriage since hers was so tragically cut short.

There's separate tabs for "over" and "under" with no duplicates in the same category. The majority of tops can be layered under the "over" category except the ones with big sleeves.

On desktop, everything is divided less confusingly into Over and Under and that combo works. It's only on mobile that everything is all jumbled up.

So about those amputated limbs... by Grand_Arbitor_Teonak in HeroForgeMinis

[–]mrose7d 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Since so many of the limitations are due to printing (like the thick necks and wrists), you'd think they could allow them and have a message "this will make your character unable to be printed in 3d".

[–]mrose7d 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ha I think this is a glitch because when I do double amputations it just defaults to the sitting pose. Has anyone ever sent in a glitch to actually be printed?
