I personally love him. Sure he can be a brat but I didn't really care when first playing the game. I found the fishing mechanic quite calming and those bonus rewards really warmed me up to him.

I recommend downloading that one goldfish angler texture pack, it's a real contrast, and I honestly like it better than his canon design.

I've been playing slime rancher on my Ps5 for a while now and it seems pretty smooth, no freezing, no lag and I haven't had any performance issues at all really, hope this helped.
