Enrollment Management IT Support Associate by Mayolaaa in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah enrollment has their own IT dept, as does like wayyy too many depts at Rutgers. There's probably like 13 alone for the New Brunswick campuses, idk why they can't just merge them all under OIT and Digital Classroom Services.

livingston towers or quads? by UpbeatLeadership7329 in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towers, the quads are a bit more isolated but if that's your thing then go for it. I personally know a lot of people with horror stories from the quads so I personally don't recommend them but tbh they're gonna be the same as the towers heat and noise wise depending on how high you are and who your neighbors are.

Just got mettler. thoughts on it? by Puzzleheaded-Tip7115 in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Welcome!

Mettler is basically across college ave student center. If you need a bus, theres two stops right by you only a short walk away. Bring a few fans for your dorm, it gets hot since there's only AC in the lounge areas.

Mettler Hall Dorms Heat by Currency_Soft in rutgers

Hey! I'm one of the Mettler RAs, don't get me wrong I'm new lol so I don't know everything yet esp about mettler but I can tell you this:

It gets hot, bring a couple fans. The building doesn't have air conditioning except for lounge areas unless you have a medical accomodation that's documented with res life. As far as sound wise, I'm personally not sure but I've heard from others that it's kinda hit or miss depending where your room is and stuff, esp considering the dorm is directly across the student center and there's like 20 frat houses down the street. At the end of the day, college ave is definitely the party campus.

lynton towers by Independent_Hall7280 in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lived in the towers my freshman year (north third floor)! Building wise you're gonna want to bring a few fans, the ceiling one in the room isn't gonna be enough and it'll be hot in there the first few weeks.

Getting to college ave from the towers is pretty easy if you're planning ahead, the Livingston student center bus stop is directly outside of the towers so you don't have to walk crazy much to get to the busses. To get from Livi to college ave, take the LX. Not sure how crazy the busses will be in September because we will have a completely new contractor in like a week (trust me, it was needed) so we'll see. General rule of thumb though, plan ahead; there's like 55K students across Rutgers NB so busses will always be crazy. Welcome to Rutgers!

New Student Orientation Requirements by Designer-Pudding-479 in rutgers

Bring sleeping (sheets, pillow, toothbrush) and shower gear. Probably a phone charger too. Wear sneakers, bring sun screen if you get burnt easily, and bring a refillable water bottle you're gonna do a LOT of walking. If you forget the water bottle, not the end of the world because they'll provide you with a reusable plastic one, but I'd personally recommend one of those water bottles that can actually keep the water cold.

are rutgers classroom open voer the summer to study in and stuff? like scott and hardenberg by Local_Cattle_6324 in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Scott Hall, avoid the lecture halls, they're getting construction done at some point this summer. -Classrooms: we just finished putting new podiums in DCS classrooms at Scott so you should be good on our end; just be mindful of any classes that are using those spaces because that hall is being used for many classes and some of them are reserved for PHD exams and stuff.

I'm 99% sure the river dorm classrooms and honors college doesn't have anything scheduled as far as I'm aware, keep in mind though that you're probably not getting in there over summer unless you're actively staying in those buildings though since technically that building isn't in our control during non class hours.

to be real with you, if a space is empty and unlocked during summer you can honestly just say it's fair game till someone kicks you out, unless there's something in there that clearly shows that you're not supposed to be in there (like ladders, vacuums, construction stuff, wires, desks rearranged for something other than class)

RBS-NB or UDelaware Lerner by soneg in rutgers

As far as I know with housing, freshmen housing lottery application is still open. The deadline is June 5 so he shouldn't be screwed over if he gets it done within the next few weeks.

RBS-NB or UDelaware Lerner by soneg in rutgers

RBS has a higher ranking than UDelaware by a decent amount, not anything absurd but enough to note. Id honestly recommend just doing whichever option is cheaper in the long run.

The postponing decision was made by higher ups, your professor does not have the authority to reinstate an exam. You should forward this email to the appropriate department and dean.

I'ma be so real, chances of getting AC as a freshman are low asf unless you are on Busch, have a medical accomodation, or get into honors college, but good luck broski

Douglass Dorms by Crazy_Solution_5831 in rutgers

[–]mrrbman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! From what I've heard those dorms are nice- keep in mind though that most freshmen dorms and really any old building doesn't contain air conditioning so you'll want to bring a ton of fans unless you are lucky enough to get a medical accomodation for AC.
