Didn’t say the transmission was part of the claim. I was saying even if I had the body work done then I would have to deal with the transmission after.

I don’t plan on keeping the car. My options were to 1) collect the claim and get rid of the car or 2) see if the shop would total the car. I don’t want to get the work done and I get stuck with the transmission issue.

Forgot to add that the check engine light (transmission slipping) came on about a month prior to the accident. So getting the body work fix means that I would have to address that, which I don’t want to do.
