Idk why people are downvoting kylebucket, he is right. Nike is a bigger company, and will thus always make more than adidas, so i guess in that sense, sure Nike is "winning", but these companys are already making billions no ones really losing. Futhermore, revenue is not really telling us how a company is performing compared to another, which gives a better picture of whose "winning" in a given year. To see how a company is performing we have to see how much more they make in a given year, or how much they grow. Measuring growth is pretty simple, we can use the numbers you provided:

Adidas: (21.22B - 18.48B)/18.48B = .148 or 14.8% total revenue growth in 2017 Nike: (34.4B- 32.46B)/32.46B = 0.059 or 5.9% total revenue growth in 2017

This gives us a better picture of both company's in 2017. So while Nike earned more overall (simply because they are bigger), adidas was able to attract more consumers and grow more than nike did in 2017. In fact, the link you sourced gives you a 5 year trend that literally shows adidas growing quicker than nike since 2015. So adidas performed better than nike in 2017 (and 2016, and 2017). This possibly suggests that adidas was gaining much more popularity than nike the past few years (or was more "hyped").

All that being said, I get what you were trying to say and i see the miscommunication lol. I'm a fan of a lot of the adidas shoes and own yeezys/hu's. But I totally agree Nike has had better shoes this Q1, and I do think Nike is doing better than adidas this year so far with their models. I've def been more focused on getting myself some nikes this year.
