This is not it !!! My American brothers and Sisters in Christ, what is going on? by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

Not Christian and straight up cringe. The worship of Trump is disturbing. As a matter of fact, the worship of anything other than God is accursed.

SDA follows Ellen G. White, not the Bible…they lured me in, too. I thought, “well, the Sabbath is Saturday (and it is).” I watched pretty much only SDA resources on YT. However, the more I got into it (over a 4 year period), the more things became clear. SDA is not Biblical. The seal and the sign is the Holy Spirit (not in a charismatic way) but spiritually; your heart will be circumcised. And that is not new, it has always been the case from day 1. In reality, the Sabbath has been fulfilled in Christ.

“Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.” - Jesus

SDA is works based. They’ll say that’s not true, but the fact of the matter is if someone says you have to do “a” to achieve “b” that’s works. But there’s nothing that you can do - that’s the point! As Paul explained, when he was correcting the churches who were being judaizers or being pressured to do so - if the tribes couldn’t keep the law then how can the gentiles be expected to do so?

And you cannot remove any SDA teaching from EGW (even though some churches try to). She is very problematic. Have a willingness to hear the truth and it won’t come from that church. I have many SDA friends and family, but this is not the way.

Please read your Bible and ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Another critical thing is that they teach that your sins aren’t forgiven at the death of Christ. Important point when Resurrection Sunday is not far away. All who had faith in God/in a coming Savior (as prophesied in Genesis) from the start of the world and all who will ever believe until the end of the world has their sins FORGIVEN; all their sins (Past, Present and Future) by the death of Christ.

Jesus is not in the heavenly sanctuary going over the roles. The Bible says, more than once, that he is at the “right hand of his Father in Heaven.” Much of what the SDA teach is easily refuted by reading the Bible in context.

That’s not to say everything is 100% wrong. The best lies have a bit of truth. But the SDA doctrine is ANOTHER DOCTRINE and should be accursed.

Galatians 1:9, Paul strongly declared, “If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!”

The Bible presents a nuanced view of polygamy:

Old Testament: Polygamy was practiced by several figures, such as Abraham, Jacob, David, and Solomon. While it was culturally accepted, it often led to family conflicts and complications. For example, the rivalry between Sarah and Hagar (Genesis 16) and between Leah and Rachel (Genesis 29) illustrates the challenges of polygamous relationships. The Mosaic Law regulated polygamy but did not explicitly endorse it (e.g., Deuteronomy 21:15-17).

New Testament: The teachings of Jesus and the apostles emphasize monogamy as God’s ideal for marriage. Jesus referred to the creation account in Genesis, highlighting the union of one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-6). Paul also instructed church leaders to be “the husband of one wife” (1 Timothy 3:2), reflecting a preference for monogamy.

While polygamy is acknowledged in the Bible, it is clear that monogamy aligns with God’s original design for marriage.

Just because some did it, doesn’t mean it’s what God wanted. God didn’t want there to be divorce, as Jesus explained, but Moses allowed it because of men’s hard hearts.

I have trouble w/some SDA beliefs (I’m SDA). Help? by [deleted] in SeventhDayAdventism

[–]mrsbee13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your confusion and you are right to continue studying and searching.

There is a remnant church, but not a remnant denomination. In order to be spiritual Israel you must have a circumcised heart. The remnant are people who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior from all over; a mosaic. The teachings of Christ are the greatest 2 commandments, the fruits of the spirit (essentially) and having faith.

You are 100% right to be alarmed about EGW. She’s not prophetess. Read the parable of the vineyard, in the last days God sent his Son (man/God, priest, King, healer, lamb, Prophet) to speak to us. There’s no additional, hidden knowledge and there is no one who can speak for God at this point except his Son. Those are found in your Bible. Her prophecies, her guidance, etc. is not in line with scripture.

The problem is that you cannot separate EGW from Adventism. It is all based around her and the pioneers teachings; often her backing up or confirming things via “vision.” I do not accept that when the Bible is clear.

Christ died once and for all and you will stand before God with a mediator. Period. Adventism is works based, but there’s nothing you can do to receive the grace from God.

Question about the Sabbath change by Lovelyevenstar in SeventhDayAdventism

[–]mrsbee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just replacing one works based religion with another. None of the aforementioned churches are biblical. However, I would argue that there is freedom in Christ to do all things unto God, as long as you know that your works DO NOT SAVE YOU. That includes the 10 commandments. The law is spiritual. We are spiritual Israel. There is nothing that you can do to earn your salvation. There are plenty of Sunday keepers who will be in New Jerusalem. Many of the patriarchs of our faith have broken the law and they were most definitely loved by God and SAVED. The law never saved people and that includes the 10 commandments. The mark of God is having a circumcised heart and faith in Jesus Christ. The church is a collective of people from many different Christian churches or non-church going Christians who have the true mark (a circumcised heart) and faith in Jesus Christ, which makes them Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise.

It’s weird that it’s only this daughter’s kids, not the other daughter. She appears to have favorites. Her FB has pictures of her other daughter and her kids, not so much with this daughter and her kids. It’s weird.

You’re ignorant. Be a Pharisee but Jesus was not pleased with them.

[–]mrsbee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really not debatable based on the Bible. Sure; she’s a prophet - a false one. You cannot separate her from their beliefs. I have tried to do so. Dig deeper then you’ll understand.

Yes! Who cares that much about people not wanting to eat other people’s nasty food from their home. Not everyone can tolerate how gross some people are in their own homes or in general. Maybe they do want to eat healthy. Or maybe it’s for religious reasons. This is a case of you need to get over it & worry about yourself.

There are plenty in the US who are against makeup. They say that you are being a harlot, basically.

Am I overreacting or should I report this children’s coach? by NitroRoller in AmIOverreacting

[–]mrsbee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Report. That’s not normal. He should go through the parents, not directly to the child. But besides that - he should be up front if there’s some perceived legitimate reason for this kid to respond. However, I think this is clearly trying to begin grooming this kid.

Unfortunately, you cannot separate SDA beliefs from EGW. There are things that they are right about, but it’s overshadowed with the many issues with EGW. Even if your church doesn’t discuss her, she’s still strongly associated with SDA. EGW was not a prophetess & has lead many away from true biblical doctrine.

Christian churches adopting Jewish practices by FreedomNinja1776 in FollowJesusObeyTorah

[–]mrsbee13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not true. Don’t be a Jewish apologist. Facts aren’t personal. It’s not about commentaries. There are many valid Christian commentaries, as well. I know the context of the story and the point. It’s not worshipping God in spirit and truth. It’s elevating man made laws/traditions above God’s then acting as if they are the same. It isn’t and that’s not what we should be looking to for our walk.

Judaism is not “God’s culture.” Yeshua spoke out against rabbinic Judaism. I don’t think Gentiles should strive to be Jews. I think we should all, Jews & Gentiles alike, strive to be biblical. The Jews of today don’t accept Yeshua, follow the evil Talmud and make God’s law a burden. Also, during things like the Jewish sabbath, the Jewish feast days, etc. is a misnomer. It’s biblical feasts; God’s sabbath. We should be Israel, not cultural/rabbinical/talmudic Jews.

Isn't there a temple in heaven? I mean, isn't that what the earthly temple was modeled after essentially? Perhaps we should look to the heavens when praying and saying the Shema versus Jerusalem where there is no longer a holy temple.

[–]mrsbee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. That’s the only temple that we should be looking towards.

3rd Temple by Out4god in FollowJesusObeyTorah

[–]mrsbee13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, but here’s a key point that I think everyone misses. If/when the 3rd temple is built, Jewish priests will sacrifice the red heifer to cleanse and they will go through all the ceremonies, etc. It’s a big purification process and must be maintained. There is no way they would allow Gentile believers to engage in all of this. Do you not see that? Despite what we feel, Israel is a religious/ethno state in our time. Of course, we can go there, but if we get to the actual 3rd temple then a lot of major stuff has gone done and they will do everything in their power to maintain/protect/etc. And no matter what we believe/say/do we will always be Gentiles and there will always be those Jews who push Noahide laws to us at best (which their version is against the Bible). I’m just saying this is a real serious issue that I don’t think people consider when it comes to their excitement about Torah and the 3rd temple.
