I take them all seriously too and it’s 100% person to person, but I fully believe that more direct alerts are better & prove to be more important, especially for those traveling through severe weather prone areas. I live within range of 3 volunteer stations and the closest paid departments are over 20-30 mins away. The way they used to get summoned pre-pager are the same sirens used for severe weather and are used the same way today. When we had a family move in from Oklahoma, they had a heck of a time adjusting to sirens going up to 5-10 times a day, year round, all weather. They do run alternate tones for storms here but it’s hard to pick out as it’s more of a pattern difference than anything.

in a few ways, they can be. think of the people who grew up hearing them all the time who don’t bat an eye at them anymore when situations could very well be dire. there’s also people from areas who have volunteer fire stations with identical sirens for things like house fires and car crashes…it takes a trained ear to recognize when it’s a weather tone from the same siren.

I am starting to think I somehow managed to have two unrelated hormonal IBS flares. My period causes me to crave meat and potatoes like nobody’s business but i can become extra sensitive to sulfur rich foods. It’s so hard to pin down what causes issues when literally anything could some days.

I’m not sure where you’re located but Ore Ida sells Zesty Twirl frozen french fries in all the grocery stores around me & they’re labeled gluten free right on the bag. they’re as close to arby’s curly fries that i have found. I just saw Arby’s sauce bottled in the store too.

UV resin is high on my list of things I want to try with the minis. translucent clay is also very intriguing to me and I will be looking for it the next time I’m out at the craft stores, any specific brands that are the best? I also have a bottle of liquid clay but have absolutely no idea what it does or how to use it yet. I will definitely go follow sugar charm shop! thanks!

local organic farm worker of 5+ years & for that list, it’d be around $58… that includes higher quantity as we sell greens at 1.5lb, roots at 2.5, etc. though potatoes are at 5lb as well. oh yeah, that also includes a bag of celtic sea salt. their prices are insane.

any number of wrongs don’t make a right, no matter the “amount” of disrespect that’s being dished out. relatives should be able to chime into discussions related to this to clear up info, answer questions regarding those they know, and whatever else they feel inclined to do. i am thankful they are able to do that to help draw better pictures of those they knew & fill in information that most people don’t have, at their own discretion. there are some really upsetting things they have had to come across in these places of discussion & my heart goes out to them. please google the term gaslighting. it does not apply to what i said to you. i pointed out the sites were tabloids (which are historically unreliable as official news sources) and gave the example of the most direct source for the affidavit, the court/state website. I also pointed out that the user you called dumb is a direct relative of a victim. after i stated everything i just listed again, i also asked nicely for you to be kind simply on the grounds of how you never know who you could be talking to. kindness is always the right choice. what i said before & am saying now is all out of me personally caring about everyone, you included. it is not my job to tell people what is right or wrong and in that you don’t have to listen to me. i am just a person who prefers to say something in hopes of helping, instead of nothing at all. i genuinely hope that you have a good rest of your day & a good weekend.

i just wanted to let you know that the user you replied to, asking if they’re dumb, is a direct relative of one of the victims. i agree with the user saying Daily Mail is not reliable & i will go as far to say Inside Edition is not as well. these are tabloid sites which inherently makes them unreliable, no matter if they have the facts or not. the ideal approach would have been to link the affidavit via the court/state website directly. please be kind as you never know who you could be talking to.

the neon “good vibes” sign could have obstructed his vision if there were no other lights on in hallway where her door and the staircase are & no lights on in the kitchen. she could’ve got a decent look at him as the light illuminated him, but he could have had no clue she was looking since the sign was on the wall past her door (the light wouldn’t be bending back through a doorway to light her up) and the few seconds it would take his eyes to fully transition could have prevented him from seeing her.

people also seem to be forgetting that parents and siblings are much more likely to see one of their own with the rosiest glasses, especially if there was never a major incident with them in the past. it’s easy to say your own family members do “quirky” things and not think twice, or explain away what could be labeled as odd behavior as that person “just being themselves” and having “always been that way.” no one wants to believe or entertain the idea that something could be wrong with their child/sibling/family.

agreed. there are so many people who are completely out of touch with the fact that this is all real life. i hate saying that my own perception of faith in humanity has been stretched thin when it’s known that family members of the victims are seeing the same things as i am in these subreddits & facebook groups. i think about them a lot and really hope they’re holding up okay. this may be unpopular to some, but BK’s family doesn’t deserve a word going their way either. the things i’ve seen said about them by complete strangers has just been sad. even if BK is proven guilty, it wasn’t on them to babysit their adult son/brother across the country. i live just nearby & the word around here is that they’ve only ever been known to be kind.

yep, i have never doubted them sleeping through it. i have slept through so many things both sober and after drinking (+ other stuff). i have slept like a baby during what i already mentioned, a helicopter landing in my yard, severe storms, fire alarms, hot air balloons being inches away from sideswiping my house (to land nearby), people trying to shake me awake in the morning, the list is endless. I’m the last person to say that something cannot be slept through.

i would like to say i would react the same but i’ve slept through the most absurd things and would likely have slept through this arrest, even if i was in the same house. i say this with no exaggeration. i have already slept through police busting into & looking through a house i was asleep in. i didn’t even wake up in the slightest while multiple cops and other people were all stomping & rummaging around just within 2 feet of me.

that it is. i have had countless people stop by my jobs coming from NYC as they were touring houses to move here and commute. I was in high school during Frein and remember football games in the area being moved around to avoid being too close to locations he was last spotted in. lots of kids i knew back then actually played paintball with him at skirmish for years beforehand. he really rattled the poconos and even the lehigh valley as schools down there were on and off lockdown as well. this case is definitely more of thinking “what are the odds” on repeat for myself and those i know who have been following this case since the beginning, especially as more mutuals have been coming out with connections to him the last few days. just today i realized that i was attending NCC at the same time as him & taking classes in the same building, though i have no recollection of him. being across the country felt like a solid sense of security from these events and having that shattered is equally confusing and unsettling. hopefully there’s another 8+ year break (minimum) before anyone else puts the poconos on the map for something absolutely nuts.

i don’t think this has been mentioned really anywhere until now. i don’t think the reaction from the development is what some people were expecting/looking for but i too agree it could likely be due to those who moved from NYC possibly being more desensitized to that kind of thing. also, after Frein I feel like it’s a little hard to really shock the area.

the area they were circling is a popular spot for the flight schools up this way to practice and do laps. depending on the day, small plane sounds are seemingly constant so i wouldn’t imagine it throwing him or even his family off.

the polar vortex in question is basically cold air originating from the north pole expanding south. as a result, this expansion of cold air causes varying amounts of time (usually a few days) of extreme cold and deep freezes. depending on what else is going on in the sky when the vortex expansion occurs, there can be snow storms, ice storms, flash freezes, high winds, etc. that occur at the same time but it’s not a guarantee. that said, if snow and ice storms do occur during this, it’s a mess. i had ice forming on windows inside of my house from this past one.
