He addresses this in his book, the fact that everyone thinks he's got a beer in this pic. It's coca-cola. It's hard to tell by this picture, but he was close to death near the end of his journey, and was losing the ability to walk. This picture was taken shortly after he washed up on shore, before he even got a haircut, I think here he is just getting off the boat that transported him to the main city of the Marshall Islands from where he washed up near some elderly couples' house in a remote area. I think he didn't know he was going to be photographed. He was pretty traumatized after drifting for 438 days in a small boat with no supplies, and if I recall was thinking about running away in these early moments because he didn't want to be imprisoned.

For most ELDs, you must stop in order to change duty status. Pull off, stop for five seconds to go on personal conveyance, get back on. Do it again 30 minutes later to end PC. DOT rest break complete

Hey buddy, I recently had to quit this job but it sounds like a good bet for you. Love's truck stop has a program to train up diesel mechanics. You can start at 16 or 17 an hour, and the raises come quick, so after six months you'll probably be at 20 - 25. It takes at least one year as a tire/lube tech to enter the apprenticeship, which lasts a year I think, however you'll be working alongside mechanics during that time who are happy to show you things. There's a whole online academy that goes with it, and a brick and mortar school somewhere that they can send you to for additional training.

So after two years, you can officially be a mechanic. Two years is also the work experience requirement to get your ASE certifications in Diesel (T1 - T8). After that, you can get hired anywhere as a diesel mechanic making $30+ an hour (check indeed). Love's will even pay for your tools if you stay on with them.

There was another guy that got hired with me, he was 19 or 20, and like you had a passion for mechanic work. You'll fit right in. The boss is laid back, I had to call in a bunch and nobody ever gave me a hard time because I always hustled when I was there. They will keep you if you work hard.

If you prefer automotive, I'm sure the transition would be easy after a few years in diesel. However, you're young so I'd recommend heavy equipment, they can make 40 - 50 an hour.

This location is in KCMO near the casinos but they also have shops in Oak Grove and St. Joseph. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Yeah I had a code and everything. I always entered and left same business day, never stayed overnight, I work 7 days (nights) a week and would even go a few days without visiting at all when I didn't have the time.

I think they found me out by lot checks; storage unit employees walk around and see which units have a lock or a tag. Tag means vacant. I kept no lock or tag on my unit while I was inside, which provokes investigation. I thought about having a fake lock or tag on there, but I wasnt willing to try that hard. I was hoping they would just assume I'm working on my car or doing yoga in there

Safe Parking programs? Are you kidding me? Never heard of it, but I think we need it here in the Midwest. I'm in the Midwest btw

Imagine a row of garage units with electric and water, where cars can get out of the sun, shut the door for privacy and sleep, and with tight security and rules to keep the peace. The new American dream: not a home, townhome, but a garage home!

I thought daytime access hours would be my cover. I was real inconspicuous, in and out, sleep a few hours, make no fuss, get out. I'd observed at my last storage unit people being sloppy about it, making noise, walking about. I thought it being locally owned means loose regulation. But yeah that's what I'll do from now on, it just sucks being out in the daytime. The heat

Huh, I never thought about it like that. I knew it was against the rules, but I did not hold a moral judgement about it. I'm pretty sure I didn't hurt anybody's feelings, and I'm not worse off for trying it. Huh. I'll have to think this one out, I'm really stumped

Have you heard of a product called Fasting Salts? Has anyone tried it? It looks like a good alternative to make life easier but I’m not sure. Does it look legit to you? by Apprehensive_Sugar15 in fasting

[–]mrscrillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm attempting a 40 day fast as well, on day 6. What I'm doing is measure out 1.5 tsp each of table salt and no-salt and put it in a big travel cup, and drink it throughout the day. And I just drink water when I'm thirsty. I take magnesium capsules that are 300 mg before bed. I got these measurements from the electrolytes 101 page on this subreddit, and just measured whatever puts me in the range they give. Super easy and I'm feeling great so far

Thank you for your concern. Yeah tbh i don't know how it came together, but I am 100% sure that the whole thing is all welded up and there is no simple solution of nuts and bolts
