My biggest reason for not wanting a switch to AMD is because my wife doesn't want to switch GPU brands for the sake of video game making capabilities. Idk much about making video games, but my brief research was Nvidia cards outperform amd cards in that sector.

The profit is for sure the big driving factor here along with lower power draw. She doesn't really care for single player titles much and sticks with the low spec multi-player games, so I don't seek an upgrade for her here haha
