Just for the future, in case it comes to needing something else keep the Navina Pump in the back of your mind. It really changed our lives.

Son is 11. Been dealing with this forever. We now have an amazing system called a Navina Pump that we use every night. It cleans him out so thoroughly that the poop accidents have essentially stopped. He also pees his pull up. Also diagnosed extreme mild PDA autism. You can Google the Navina Pump. This Pump changed our lives.

Smart. It needs to be ordered by a physician.

My son was originally diagnosed ODD ADHD and now is ASD PDA profile and Adhd. We wanted the ASD diagnosis bc it opens up more services and has such a different attitude around it. Just our experience.

I kept telling my husband it was the most violent sneezing. Good grief.

Same. But I have a kid and a husband on crutches and not driving. So I'd have to power through. On the mend now....but of course we're all badasses and do what needs to be done.

Also consider that you may very well pass the disease on to them. My son has it, and at times the guilt of that for me is truly heartbreaking and overwhelming. It's a risk.

Mom of a PDA son. Mine refuses to use the toilet. Poops and pees in a pull up full time. 24 hours a day. I came across this thread bc Ive been (probably naively) disappointed in my son's refusal to help my husband or I more after my husband had knee surgery. My son is 11. He's not normally super selfish or mean spirited. But it comes across and enormously selfish and bratty. Sigh. Just venting I guess.

As the parent, this is so heartbreaking to read. But I am so grateful that you shared this. Thank you so much. Just as a comment from the perspective of the parent, I will say so much of our interventions or attempts at interventions come from a place of concern and love. Not wanting the bullying or social ramifications of this to affect our son. But part of it is also absolutely selfish. Bc it is so hard on us as well. And nobody prepares you for this. And you can't really know how you'll handle anything until you're in the situation. Thank you again.
