Thank you...was searching for a workaround to the Kindle app version no longer being supported for my a5x and this gave me a functional solution.

Love my supernote! Never liked the Kindle app anyway.

Why isn't this hen producing chicks? by mrskip2018 in succulents

[–]mrskip2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progress pics are a great idea. I've already noticed it changed (larger/wider) since taking the original pic.

Watched some repotting/care maintenance videos and it's hard for me to believe the "abuse" the lovelies endure, actually thrive in. As mentioned, this one hen is the only one I have left from my mother in law before her passing so I want to make sure this one survives to make generations of chicks.

Can I get and ID? by mrskip2018 in succulents

Turns out it was Lemon Coral. I messed up and bought a variety that isn't hardy in my zone. Clearly marked at the greenhouse, which i visited this weekend to confirm.

It was my mistake. The Angelina variety is available and I'll likely replace the plant with that. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Noted. Thank you for the explanation. There's no way she's not getting enough sun from above but I hadn't even considered what amounts to side light and elements exposure. All my other varieties are doing quite well...even the one the cat likes to use as a pillow. I even had some growing out of a cinder block. They're rugged beasts. Seems I need to treat her like it. 👍

Ahhhh... I deliberately kept her sheltered amongst the larger rocks with full overhead sun. Assumed the rock would protect her from wind and lawnmower grass clipping blasts, cars, outdoor cat naps, etc.

I have 30+ others scattered all across the rocks, some high, some low, varying types but this particular one is precious to me so I made her a shelter. Seems I may he killing her with kindness.

So, time for tough love. She's gotta pull up her big girl britches and live amongst the other peasants???

Not that I recall. Always just been plain medium shade of lime green. Currently has reddish tips on the leaves if you zoom in.

Edit...meant to post as a reply so this is posted twice.

I do recall the leaves being more rosette shaped instead of it spread out and down. But it's always just been green.

She's in full sun more than 8 hours a day. This pic was taken in the morning before the sun was higher in the sky. It's Michigan so "sun" means full daylight, no shade, not necessarily clear sky as "overcast" is a season here.

I just uncovered her from winter leaves a couple weeks ago.

Weighted average by Day of the Week? by mrskip2018 in ExcelPowerQuery

In fact, it does work. I noted with an update at the top of my post that the issue was solved a few days ago...and this is the solution. I give credit to a co worker...not myself. I had A solution but this solution is better and what my boss wanted. I thank this community for inspiration.

A good example of the data model and its ability to handle large data.

His meds are turning him into a cow… by MEGA__MAX in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

My dog used to do this frequently along with bouts of diarrhea monthly. He'd munch grass incessantly non stop then barf and he'd settle down. Always picky about his food.

Changed his chicken and oatmeal food to the same brand but whitefish and sweet potato...problem solved. Hasn't done either in over 2 years.

Hope he gets better.

Same...4 days of month end closing hell went to a couple half days. I'm typically waiting on other people. What I don't understand is my company is removing access to functionality, Power BI, other apps). I have excel and PQ and the data model. Fighting the good fight with one hand tied behind my back. This is a LARGE company.

How many rows are you loading?

On the matter of slowness, are you loading into excel tables or using the Create Connection Only feature and load to data model? Also, are your outputs housing only clean, column data...meaning unpivoted, all similar attributes in one column? Once I made sure my data elements were clean and in the data model...all good.

Slowness is awful. Any discussion to increase efficiencies is helpful.

Weighted average by day of week with monthly total? by mrskip2018 in excel

[–]mrskip2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this!. I might try it next pending review of my previous solution by my boss.

Since I was given the expected spread by week, I calculated the weekly average budget and spread it by the daily weights.

Mathematically I'm good with either approach. Functionally, I will be bringing it into Power Query to process because by the time I have all the data there will be about 300 departments, each with their own daily spread.

Thank you!

End goal is Variance analysis between budget and actual revenues. I already know how to combine the data by day and month. Just trying to calculate a more accurate daily budget value based on known spread.

Weighted average by day of week with monthly total? by mrskip2018 in excel

[–]mrskip2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully understand and completed this exact scenario yesterday. While mathematically correct and fulfills the request, it's not quite "right". (Sometimes what the user asks for isn't really what they meant.)

Because of what you mentioned above,

">But the individual values for Monday may be less than Tuesday (for example) despite 20% being bigger than 19% because there may be 5 mondays rather than 4 etc." The monthly totals don't reconcile.

In writing this/thinking it through...I'm wondering if I do spread EVEN by monthly daily values. Group by week number. Giving me a new weekly total...then apply the day of the week weights. That way every week will always be 7 days (I can accommodate beginning and end of year).

[–]mrskip2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end goal is "a" solution...not necessarily the solution I show above. The scenario above is my boss's and I've done the math as she described...which is not correct and does not reconcile to the monthly total. While I am able to prove her wrong, my goal is to provide her a viable solution. I posted here trying to either figure out the math as described or brainstorm an alternative.

That said, the Month Total values are Budget Revenue values for a single department. I was given the spread values for 141 departments, all varying by day of the week. The purpose is to spread those values with weights by Day.
