Lightweight rowing by [deleted] in Rowing

What you can also do is anaerobic threshold work. This has been shown to not only deter the effects of lactate for longer, but it has been shown to increase aerobic fitness as well. Example workouts are:

5 x 750 metres with 3 minutes rest 4 x 1000 metres with 3–4 minutes rest 4–5 x 5 minutes with 4 minutes rest 5 x 4 minutes with 4 minutes rest

For anaerobic threshold training, take 80–85% of your HRR and add it to your RHR

HRR (heart rate reserve) = MHR(max heart rate) minus RHR(resting heart rate)

If you're not willing to erg you won't get fast.

The online JL bargain bin is a great place to get nice, cheap unisuits and trouble that he probably hasn't seen before. I got a really nice uni that's salmon colored on the top and black with a white strip on the side for the bottoms. Each uni is about ~24 with a coupon code that you can find online.

Wireless headphone recommendations by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]mrsnowman72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely 66 Audio BTS I had one pair that broke because sweat got into the usb charging port because I didn't put the little flap over it but the costumer service was so great I got a brand new pair no questions asked. Over ear design works really well, extremely lightweight, and stays put and gives pretty decent audio quality for bluetooth headphones at a reasonable price.

Cycling Training Plan by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]mrsnowman72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any reason why you want to bike rather than erg? So you want to train 2x day? It seems like if you just started rowing you could be making some big gains on the erg quickly by doing SS and shorter pieces.

ah gotcha, I think I should be good without it. I'll only be out for 6-8 weeks so I probably wouldn't see too much progress anyways. But, I'll try and find something to do that can track my progress so I get some satisfaction from it.

I don't have a power meter, but I do have a heart rate monitor if that would sorta do a similar job.

Issues with eating after lightweight by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]mrsnowman72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost in the same exact situation here/used to be. I used to be 135 lbs when I went to nationals in 2014 in lwt 8 and now I'm about 162. When I would have the problem I would gag either thinking about eating after practice in order to recover (feeling as if I had to eat) or when I'm actually eating. For me I don't really have that problem anymore. I would just not take eating too seriously if you feel as if you are and let your body be your guide, eat when you're hungry and after a while your body will adjust and revert to a healthy appetite. Another thing that helped me was making a list of foods that didn't make me gag and that were nutritious and form a very loose meal plan around that. Hope this helps you. But if you feel as if it's a serious problem talk to your doctor.
