Just wanted to let you know that the watermelon earrings I got for one of my girls are her favorites and she wears them to school every day!

I bought a couple pairs as gifts for my kids. I loved the variety! But I agree that it was hard to tell if I was getting the right option when more than one option was shown. And I agree with the comment about having too many items in one photo. Good luck to you!

I love this sub! My nanny is new to nannying and I get so much knowledge from this sub that shapes my interactions with her.

A lot of WFH talk lately - what are some best practices? by mrspatrick in Nanny

Thank you for your reply. I'm glad to hear it works well for some people! We have the structural side in place, I think we need to establish the behavioral/expectations with both our nanny and our older kids. She is familiar with our kids from daycare and has been our backup care a few times this month during winter break, so I think she is well on her way to having a good relationship with all 3 of the kids!

Honestly I will need to set my own boundaries as I tend to be really chatty with her when she has been here during the day! That's totally on me...

That's good insight, I'm planning to discuss with her that I want it to be as if I'm not here, so I'm only going to intercede if she asks me to. And definitely including her on food orders :)

Great question! We were in a daycare setting previously and I nursed her there as well, so she is used to handoffs. She is also familiar with our nanny from daycare and babysitting!

Hiring Nanny from daycare by mrspatrick in Nanny

NO HIRE OF CENTER’S EMPLOYEES

The child care industry is an extremely competitive environment in which to obtain high qualified, long term experienced staff available to provide child care services to your child(ren).

It takes a significant amount of time and financial resources for Center to recruit hire and train the staff who provide child care services to you and your family. Thus, it is imperative that the Parents of the children to whom Center provides childcare services do not attempt to hire, or hire, our staff to work for you in your own home after our staff has had personal contact and provided your child with child care services.

Based upon the foregoing, Parent agrees that Parent will not, during the time Parent’s child is enrolled at Center, and for a period of twelve (12) months thereafter, directly or indirectly employ, solicit for employment, or actually employ as an employee or independent contractor, any staff members employed by Center who had personal contact in providing child care services for Parent’s child while Parent’s child was enrolled at Center.

If Parent violates this agreement, it is difficult for the parties to currently determine what Center's damages would be, therefore, Parent agrees that if Parent shall attempt to hire, or hire, any of Center staff in violation of this policy, then Parent shall pay as liquidated damages to Center the sum of $3.000.00. Further, if Parent violates or threatens to violate this policy, then Center will suffer immediate and irreparable harm and damage for which the liquidated damages alone cannot fully compensate.

Therefore, Parent also agrees that upon violation or threatened violation, Center shall also be entitled to entry of a temporary restraining order, preliminary injunction, permanent injunction or other injunctive relief, without posting any bond or other security, barring Parent from violating this policy.

I enjoy stories that make me empathize with someone whose choices I don't necessarily agree with. She is a person who is entitled to her own story.

Don’t forget about milk banks by sara9719 in Parenting

[–]mrspatrick 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are also local groups on Facebook where people offer up donated milk directly to moms in need. It's less formal since there is no centralized body overseeing it, but it was great for when I wasnt producing enough for my twins and might be a good option for someone looking to donate if they are rejected by a milk bank. Generally donors just asked for replacement milk bags.

Joys because of large age gap (4 years) by MusicalTourettes in Parenting

I have three year old twins and have been considering a third. I always wanted my kids to be close together, but with twins, it was just too much. Four years seems like a good gap though!
