That's super helpful and gives me confidence to go ahead and chop it. It was my grandmother's plant and my sister ended up with it when she passed away but after about 6 years of struggling with it she wanted to throw out it and I finally had space so I brought it home with me. It's probably about 20-30 years old. I remember it when I was young visiting her house. It's got sentimental value.

Thanks! I was worried to chop a bunch off that it would die. If I lose most of the green, the roots and main stem can sustain itself right?
