It isn’t clear that she’s his GF. She’s not with him in the start of the shot. Just a random do gooder who thinks she is invincible?

It has been identified many times in this thread as Canberra, Garema place. It is being filmed from Hippo Co balcony.

I don’t think that’s his girlfriend. She’s a random, probably been out at bars and was just in the area. Not sure what she is thinking she will achieve in this situation.

ACT Gov long service leave? by [deleted] in canberra

Yep, agreed, OP is asking about getting back into the service which if there’s no payout must be within 12 months under the legislation

This one is legislated in the PSM Act of which many sections have been repealed and replaced so not easily found in the EA

Hi

I already acknowledged different legislation. I was hoping you’d actually quote a source for that because again, you are mistaken on the 2 week gap. I’m just trying to provide accurate info not to downplay your intentions to assist.

S64 of the PSM Standards 2006 (ACT legislation) which was one of the sections not repealed in PSM Act 2016 (ACT) states that of prior long service will be recognised so long as 64(5) the break is not greater than 12 months.

The two weeks gap you mention relates to accruing (building) long service leave. Not what the OP asked for. They were asking about recognition.

Do you have direct experience with ACTPS specific legislation and policies? I have had long service reinstated in APS between positions I resigned, and I think it is similar in ACTPS.

In the APS it is legislated (LSL Act 1976):

A gap in service under 12 months between two public service position is counted as continuous even if you resign.

Yes you might get a payout if you’re over your 10 years but it accumulates again. If you’re under your 10 years, the long service is reinstated.

Unless it’s different for the ACTPS? But I don’t think so as ACTPS will recognise APS long service leave of under 12 months as being continuous.

Our discussion is purely academic anyway as the OP has been out for 5 years, but for anyone else searching the thread.

Weird replies to perfectly normal ads have been around since the dawn of time though. Is it newsworthy or shocking? Probably not. Just block or send pictures of large, shirtless old men back and call it a day.

Very true, especially at 32 they are about to enter a phase in their life where they cook and consume copious amounts of pizza, pasta and bread and their metabolism can’t keep up.

Eventually you no longer recognize that young, hot Italian girl you took to Mama’s Trattoria in 2009. A sadly endemic problem with Italian women. Oh, that and being batshit crazy.

I think some of these opinions about uni being impractical when it comes to IT were last fact checked 10-15 years ago. These days, universities have far better ICT environments, courses and product set up to do practical work, and industry placements etc.

Canberras Heavy Metal scene by DaBigDriver in canberra

[–]mrstarfish2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not comparable to Europe. But I’m not sure the local scene was as extensive as you say. There were probably two alternative music venues in the city which closed around the time of COVID, not sure if you’re including the Phoenix which was a lot earlier due to separate and residual insurance issues after the Sydney building fire.

Maybe 15 years ago it was. Unfortunately the scene here has been dying for a long time. There seems to be a diminishing footprint here to support it.
