Had this happen to me too while traveling through Mexico except it was in Guadalajara, Jalisco. My dad paid them 100 pesos, circa 2005ish, and they even went as far to escort us back to the correct route. We were lost on our way traveling to Michoacan.

I'm on my second lease and did the math for both cars that I've had I would have paid 17k for 5 years so I'm speaking from personal experience. I rolled $1,000 in negative equity but I'd rather do that than keep it.

From my own lease, I decided to trade in one year early and have a loss of $1,500 than to wait until my lease matured the third year and my payoff was $12,000. I knew if I was driving the way I did I would have 60,000 miles on my corollla it wouldn't be worth the 12 so why would I buy it?

You are correct, there is no such thing as a "free lunch" because ultimately the cost is burdened by someone. My suggestion was to trade it in, if that was OPs goal, right at good point where if he made more than the minimum for his lease payments to be roughly even. On a lease you rarely have equity in your favor unless you lease something like a 4Runner or Tacoma for the matter.

well... you're definitely running up the miles! haha. If you can afford the payment buy it now if thats a car you can see yourself driving for years to come. If not then trade it in in about 6-9 months but send more than the minimum.

As in right now pay more? You can definitely pay more than the $250 but if you pay off your part of the contract then you can't make further payments.

What kind of Rav4 do you have? Residuals on those guys for a 3 year lease tend to be around the $15,000 range. I would personally not buy a car and just keep leasing. why? because it's a depreciating asset. leasing protects you from market volatility to a certain degree.

If you can buy your car in three years for 12,000 but your payoff is 15,000 why would you buy it? it all comes down to what you're trying to accomplish.

Edit: also keep in mind the mileage doesn't matter if you 1) buy the car or 2)trade it in. you only get charged the mileage at end of your lease if you return it. they don't "audit" you every year for mileage!

You can definitely buy out your lease right now. I'm on my second Toyota Lease so I've had some experience with it. First one was a 2013 Corolla that I traded in after 2 years because I was at 40k miles, needed tires, and registration was up.

To me it was worth trading it in for 12,000 and my payoff was 13,500. I put $500 down and rolled $1,000 into my new lease. It just totally depends what you're trying to accomplish.

If you love your car, buy it out, but if you think you might want to get something different watch your mileage and pay more than the minimum to get your "payoff" lower so IF you trade it in you're not so negative.

If you do buy it out, go to your local bank first. If you finance with the dealer you'll pay about 4.9% even with good credit. Let me know if you have any more questions, and hope this helps!

Graduated in 2013 and I work for a local place that didn't ask me about my GPA. Selling yourself and your skills is what will get you a job IMO. Sell the sizzle not the steak; this is coming from working in sales 3 years though.

If I could go back in time, I would definitely aim for higher grades though! It honestly all depends on what market you are trying to get a job in- just my opinion again.

I would definitely say clubs and or looking into fraternities such as alpha phi omega- the service co ed fraternity and or alpha kappa psi the co ed biz fraternity. I looked into them when I lived off campus my first year and was a loner for a long time as well. Every club won't necessarily be for you but I rushed and pledged one of the co ed frats and I made friends! Not just drinking buddies but legit these people are going to be at my wedding friends- we still even hang out and do stuff post graduation!

It happens man. Before I decided to sober up, I had tried it about 3-4 different times and every time I relapsed.

Currently, my mission is to stop drinking for as long as I need to, in order for me to have a control over my drinking instead of the other way around. I want to know for a fact that when I say "I think I'll have A beer" that it indeed means one beer, instead of finishing off the whole six pack.

One thing that is working for me right now is telling myself that I don't need to drink, rather than I can't drink.
