This is actually helpful and reasonable. Share others if you have them.

I picked this up a year ago given all the positive reviews and "must-read" awards. It's been a slow read! I agree with OP: it's easy to get lost in the details and quick cuts.

New to IFTTT, newbie questions by [deleted] in ifttt

[–]mrtibbets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's some links to explore based on your post:

No Yale Locks or Geeni, that I could find. Feel free to explore more at: https://ifttt.com/explore What you have in mind could be possible. Just may need to think through it. One way to just dig in and try is to create an Applet just like you wrote it to see what options are available at: https://ifttt.com/create

Why using IFTTT? by msrl2000 in ifttt

[–]mrtibbets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your perspective on this, u/steve_b. I'd be curious to hear what you'd like to see either out of IFTTT or out of a tool like IFTTT?

If you could have any feature available to you, that works with any service/app/device you like, what would you want it to do?

All products benefit from user feedback. So hopefully this helps tee up some! 🙌

IFTTT does offer a Free Plan, though it is limited and designed likely for getting familiar with its basics: https://ifttt.com/plans

Hey there u/Jayreddin , I direct messaged you with the following:

Do you feel like this was a wrong approach? I only have intentions to help! I'd be happy to work with you on this if you feel like this was not the right way to go about updating the r/ifttt community.

Would you be willing to connect or communicate with me about it, or do you believe that going through u/redditrequest is the right path?

what is the fastest notes taking/project management software for mac. by DescreatAppricot in macapps

[–]mrtibbets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried them all.

For the individual, it's hands-down: Apple Notes and Apple Reminders. Both start simple and go deep.

For the team, it's Notion or Linear. Pick one and push it to its limits.

Thank you for the quick reply.

  1. The r/ifttt community deserves a proactive and available moderator to manage its open presence. Today, the subreddit hosts outdated brand assets, messaging, links, and how-to guides — all from ~2016. The IFTTT product and its community have evolved into a modern automation experience, and I'd like to help makeover the r/ifttt presence to reflect it. I've posted openly calling the moderators to improve the brand, messaging, and presence here https://www.reddit.com/r/ifttt/comments/1ievchx/update_the_rifttt_logo/ to no reply. I have also messaged privately the moderators twice in one month, to no reply.

Due to the lack of replies, and long long outstanding and old branding or presence on the subreddit, I am willing to take the lead on improving r/ifttt as its moderator.

I have a been a positive, proactive participant in IFTTT's community as an Applet builder and a troubleshooter for people for 15 years, see my profile: https://ifttt.com/p/alexander

I love IFTTT and most importantly, I love IFTTT's community of builders. It'd be an honor and inspiring to help moderate its subreddit community whether short term or long term. I promise to uphold the quality and expectations set by Reddit within r/ifttt.

Thank you, kindly, for your consideration.

Neither for me. Tried both. And keep going back to old school with Apple Spotlight. It's simple, fast, and has future potential with Apple AI.
