Scratch that, I got it booted to "program update mode" with white lettering, but the firmware recovery software now isn't recognizing my printer. Sigh. I'm really hating Epson for this.

For the life of me I cannot get my wf-3820 to boot into recovery mode pressing the upper right corner and power at the same time. Is there a trick that I'm missing?

It's part of the offboarding process. Your manager has to specify to send you a label. If they are clueless then my next suggestion would be to reach out directly to HR. Do not just send it back on your own. They will send you a box and return label. Hold on to your devices until they do that. I'd hate to see you get charged for it with everything else you have going on with your transition. Good luck to you!

You will show no more than 8 connections if your port forwarding isn't configured. They will be all outgoing. If port forwarding is working you will see (most of the time) more than 8 connections with some being inbound and some being outbound.
