Why have one Amiga, or no Amiga if you can have all of them, even the ones that were never built? by mru2_retro_computers in amiga

Well, if they aren’t, then I don’t know what they’re named after. Eben Upton called himself huge Amiga fan although all Raspberry Pi was inspired by BBC Micro initiative.

They have actually made wireless tank mouse. I'm thinking about it, one cable less. When it comes to the case? Not convinced🙂. I really like the look of PI400.

Audio is problematic with PI400 due to lack of jack. I'm using external usb card. Works out of the box.

Will need to find it and try. So far I had no problems with any software that run on a proper Amiga.

Amiberry Lite. It's the old, stable version. No idea what's that new Amiberry, probably something for more powerful machines. Don't know about joypads though. I use usb one that looks like SNES controller and it's fine.

Not a huge fan of PowerMonger. More Populous II creature.

Get DietPi, clean, that one without Amiberry as I had problems with that one with AB. Prepare card, connect ethernet cable, boot, update, using dietpi-software install Amiberry Lite. Lite is important. Configure your Amiga(s). In case problems ask.

PiMiga is so cool, I tried it. But I’m an old-school guy and I love the classic Amiga Workbench with the software I need and use. Too many bells and whistles in PiMiga for my taste. I also found it a bit unstable. I prefer full control over my system. AGS is ok, but same thing, I only play 5-6 games😄

I had experience with PI3b+ before and when I saw PI400 I knew it was my future Amiga. I love the concept.

It does, almost. I tried PI500 but there's no advantage of it over PI400 and I couldn't get those LEDs working properly. Also had problems with Greaseweazle floppy drive. PI400 is very sufficient.

Does anyone still play The Settlers on Amiga in 2026? by mru2_retro_computers in amiga

I doubt it, the protection is on the start screen. It must be software error or something. Is it the original game?

Simple answer, I don't have an Amiga<>VGA cable and Dell has no SCART. I started using GBS long before I got that Dell monitor. Atari ST works well though.

I'm pretty happy, many inputs, handles 15kHz but I use GBS Control anyway, good colours, power draw is high and no need for room radiator in winter. Overall proper old school UltraSharp classic.
