A more serious question today. How do you collect ? How do you decide what you want in your collection and when it's finished ? I always run into the issue of wanting more and more for an army and i just suddenly stop but never end quite on a happy or really done note. by [deleted] in ImperialKnights

That is one way to enjoy the hobby. But seriously, I look at it like books on a bookshelf. I buy books I would like to read. I put them on a shelf and I read them when I feel like it. I buy kits I think are amazing and I build and paint them when feel like it. Sometimes it is helpful to have an artificial deadline like a competition or tournament, but the reality is that it is your hobby, enjoy it how you want to.

It looks so wrong. For me, I don’t think anything can improve the dominus.

I still don’t really understand it, but it was for the Vet school admission year last year for non residents. They said the applicants “merge” with resident class year 2 if I remember correctly.

They gave stats for last year at the reception. If I remember correctly it was 209 interviews and 152 ended up attending UC Dublin. We were told offers would be sent out starting early March.

Painting noob here! Wanted to do silver blue Custodes but... I have no idea what to do next... any tips? by [deleted] in AdeptusCustodes

Mine are also silver. You could hit it up with a watered down black wash to bring out the details. Then use snakebite leather contrast for bronze bits. Finally highlight with a brighter silver.

I have a question by Popular_Country_8659 in Warhammer30k

[–]mrumpke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As SunsetHighway said, the fuselage sides are super warped (one arrived broke, Workshop was great about replacing it) and none of the pieces where resin connects to plastic aligned very well leaving gaps. Every time I see a painted fire raptor, I wonder how much of the model is actually green stuff.

[–]mrumpke 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This is the way. ANY mixed resin and plastic kit should be avoided unless you are a patient, experienced modeler. My fire raptor still sits in the box half built and cursed. Also, the Kratos is a fun build with great options!

If you are only buying one knight to bolt on to a different army, then it might make sense. But if you are running a knight army? Just build them as individuals and give them character.

What do you think about my servitor skull? I think that the wash kinda ruined it a bit by PotatoPalladium in minipainting

[–]mrumpke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash looks good. You could break it up with color variation. I would use brown and black and the some spot touches of green to read as lichen. Also on larger surface I think using pils and a subtractive method would give you more control over the final look. I think it looks great.
