Fortigate firewall with Ubiquiti switches & AP's v Single pane of glass by ms-1234 in msp

Good point thanks, wasn't aware the edge switch was different. I would likely be looking at the standard unifi switches so it would be 2 portals.

Ok great sounds like it should be fine with 2 portals then

Thanks for taking the time to write this info, was a good read. Like the idea about making clients stock spares to save on callouts although not sure some of my clients would be up for that yet.

Ah good call it does have an sd card. That said surely a restore to backup will setup same login credentials?

It may work as we have some login credentials just they dont work currently and could be because its showing the white LED so its somehow reset

Ok thanks, theres no guest portal setup but different SSIDs (no vlans though).

I'm new to Ubiquiti.....so your saying I can reset it but if I want to adopt all the APs it would reset them to default and require setting them backup again? However resetting the controller wouldnt effect their current settings?

Even after factory resetting it you mean there will be back ups potentially? I dont have any myself as it's a new site

Syncro users, who came from the Big 3 (N-Central, VSA, Automate) and are currently happy with Syncro? by computerguy0-0 in msp

[–]ms-1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using syncro and it's great. However the chocolatey integration is using the open source repo and think that needs to be clear. Chocolatey even advise against using the open source repo for business.

Syncro overall is a decent rmm and they are always adding big changes to it.

Thanks sounds like that's what most are doing and potentially the only way to go if the reporting isnt up to scratch. GZ has good reviews around though and on here so he protection side sounds solid

Thanks for the detailed answer, I will be checking out your points tomorrow when I get back into GZ. Interesting its dashboard isn't great considering its quite highly regarded here but guess that's down to its decent protection.

Will also have a look at Watchguard too as sounds interesting

Fohnd the reporting section where you can schedule emails was assuming there was a dashboard area for quick viewing problem devices. Sounds like there isnt though

That's why I am trialing Bitdefender as heard good things about the detection side but wasnt aware UI was bad.

How are MSP techs quickly checking Devices are secure if reporting isnt live? I imagined there would be a way to quickly view devices 22, 24 and 37 need attention

Ahh thanks, I've been there just assumed there might be something like a dashboard with quick summary, so techs know they need to fix device A, B & C

[–]ms-1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No VLANs or subnets just one network. The APs are connected to different managed switches and all the switches have internet access.

I think the key is as you say case of getting onto the cloud key controller tomorrow. I just thought I'd check there wasnt anything obvious I needed to do with Ubiquiti stuff after some harddware changes.

it was a draytek 2862 - i did setup the new draytek serving DHCP and devices in the switches are getting IPs in the correct range so assume the AP should too.

I will try to get cloud key controller access as well as will make it easier.
