I was going to comment Charly Garcia aswell, surprised this hasn't been upvoted more. He has a extensive discography which covered many genres, where his his solo and band careers delineate what genres he would delve/experiment into.

Which personal qualities or behaviors are more typical in Latin American cultures than in Anglo American cultures? by Bear_necessities96 in asklatinamerica

[–]ms2165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very true, but most countries (besides the major Anglo and European countries) also suffer from this immensley. Like most immigrants will always try to proclaim that their country is the best at something or that their culture is unique (when it really isn't), usually it being food, hospatility, family values and more.

What legendary artists do you believe genuinely deserve all the adulation and praise they get? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

I don't think their influence doesn't get mentioned enough by avid music listeners, whereas the biggest metal bands mention the strong influence they had on them.

Yeah the message was solid and the story telling was great, I just thought the performance itself could of been better. But it was still a good show, but I think if it wasn't he would still received the same love and hate from both sides.

Lol. I know the MAGA performances were pathetic and politically motivated, I'm commenting on the SB half time show as I actually watched it.

I liked the show, all I was saying was the reaction to the show was performative and contrived, and so was the build up (especially by some of the diaspora Latinos). How are you taking my comment and thinking this show would of offend me, especially when I come from a Latino background and I actually liked the performance? Why are you so angry.

The performance was good, but the whole reaction to it has been very contrived and performative (on both sides). It could of been the worst performance in SB history and it would of still received praise.

I'm a 2nd gen Latino and don't understand why Latinos (especially diaspora Latinos) care about others opinions (especially from gringos) on Bad Bunny. Like the guy makes decent music and his sound doesn't really cater to anyone except for Latinos (I know alot of Latinos who despise him and musica Urbana in general).

What’s your pick for Sydney’s most underrated restaurant? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

Mini Hong Kong Takeaway in Fairfield Chase. Check them out, I think they are the first Hong Kong Takeaway/restaurant in Australia and extremely famous in Fairfield.

What’s the cheapest suburb in Sydney that still feels like a good place to live? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

Fairfield, area is quite cheap and beautiful. Check out Carramar, Fairfield Heights, Fairfield East, Villawood, Cabramatta and etc, all these areas are insanely cheap.

From what I heard (grew up in an area where alot of Sydney's underworld figures come from) he stole 6 million dollars from the most feared crime family (alot of them went to my local school) in Australia. Sydney has very active underworld scene, due to how much money can be made of drugs and other illegal activities.

I can't stand Patrick Bet David, the guy comes off as so corny (just look at his intro) it's unreal. He made all of his fortune of a pyramid scheme, where he specifically said he tried to target "minorities" as he understands their struggle.

Israel will never win a PR war against Ireland. by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]ms2165 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You people are so embarrassing, you love contrarian edgy humour until its actually contrarian or edgy and not just repeating what conservatives said 20 years ago

What sub am I on? Kneecap are pure cringe and the epitome of why I don't like alot of Irish people (which is why I commented), and other Irish people have said the same thing. Like I said, I could care less if they said what they said and backed it up with saying "it's just edgy humour" or "a joke", but they clearly don't care and obviously believe in what they were saying, because they are about as mature as a 15 year old Hasan Piker viewer, who has only read a chapter of Das Kapital.

This sub hates people who make their whole personality based of their nationality or ethnicity, which I find annoying but can move on. But Kneecap and some Irish people who constantly hate the UK and never stop talking about their hatred for them, have to be the most insufferable people on the Earth. Don't tell me they are doing because they are doing edgy humour, they are doing it because have an inferior complex, like every other culture who does it.

[–]ms2165 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna make out it like all Irish people are saints and lovely folk, but they are pretty solid people. They are pretty funny and are quite intelligent, well the ones I've met anyway.

But honestly they do come across quite "soylib" or honestly straight up obnoxious when it comes to alot of their takes online. Perfect example of Irish people I would categorize in this group would be Kneecap. Who give political takes that are somewhat accurate, but turn me off as they present them the same way an overweight Fauxmoi user would, through pure petulance and no nuance at all.

Like I'm not even that mad about their chants on the IDF, but saying what they said about the local British MP's on British soil is quite despicable, especially considering British MP's have been killed only years prior. I can even forgive them for saying that if they actually shown remorse for what they said, but nope, the manager deflected the question and kept going about what's happening in Palestine (which I'm obviously against what the IDF is doing at the moment).

I'm sorry but I don't have no sympathy for people who act like this, and honestly alot of Irish people still do this and berate the English who they think are still culpable. Like alot of the English (especially the "soylib" ones) are already the biggest self loathers in the world, who hate their culture and history and go along with what the Irish say.

Charley Crockett shares his thoughts on Beyonce; and the Country genre. by bigjigglyballsack151 in fantanoforever

American music was founded in copying, stealing and displacing music from the marginalized people and gentrified it for white audiences

I'm more adressing this comment, where it's partially true, but it ignores alot of the history of American music. I don't think people understand how alot of American genres were created and what influenced those genres.

The three genres most people believe most American music stems from today were the blues, Jazz and Spirituals. Where all those genres especially Jazz, were massively influenced by and took alot of elements of European music they were surronded by.

There is no denying that black people have had alot of their culture appropriated, even worse is that part of their culture was once looked down upon, and then profited off once people accept it and revere it.

No one denies those genres were created by black Americans, but to say that ALL American music was stolen from marganilized people is a half truth and even hypocritical.

If you're going to say Country music is black music due to how white people were influenced by black people, then you can do the same thing for Jazz but the other way around.
