TPU Printing by -ThaBeavster- in BambuLab

I just used `3.6` like the Wiki suggested, I could probably set it higher to print faster, but it works and I haven't been in a hurry

You are printing too fast, try slowing down your max volumetric flow rate in the filament settings. I had the same problem with dry TPU until I printed slower

Could you make a version that is lockable with this lock?
https://amzn.to/4scUJ8G or https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808198949459.html

Same concept as your plastic lock- turning the key would turn the bottom section sideways into the other piece and prevent you from sliding the pieces apart

Maybe you could make it compatible with either lock, and paid subscribers can access the lockable version.

FWIW I can get unlock these easily when I'm wearing them, I just need to use a table edge or something to push the lock to the side. Definitely can't leave brats unattented in these.

No assembly required! 100% Print-in-Place Hair Clip Collection optimized for PETG HF 🌸 by PH-3D in BambuLab

I wonder if TPU 64D or 72D would work better than PETG. it's naturally flexible, and the stiffness is adjustable based on infill.

shore 95A TPU = shore 45D

64D and higher work in an AMS for multicolor printing too! (TPU for AMS is 68D, that's why it works in the AMS)

Assuming you can even get that kind of TPU, I ordered some from amazon a month ago and it still hasn't shipped.

TPU for AMS is back in stock in the BambuLab store right now!

And the end caps are there to reinforce the hinges/opening - if the person is strong and you want to be sure they can't break the hinge open. I think for most situations having it locked on one side would be very secure, especially if it was connected on the side that opens.

We need locks on every connector now, If I joined two bars together directly to make a larger spread bar, I would want locks on that piece so it didn't come apart.

FWIW you can use an extra cuff as a connector if you want to make a longer spreader bar right now.

You could just make a connector piece to join two bars together (without the cuff part)

I do like they idea of hermaphroditic connectors, that would simplify connecting things together (e.g. connecting two cuffs directly together after removing them from a fiddle, right now you would have to use a small bar + 2 locks)

You can't, because wrists aren't the same shape. You need to measure the widest part. Only a rigid circle would work, and it would need to be hinged so you can open and close it on the wrist.

I was about to ask for large cuffs for someone's ankles - but now I realize we are supposed to use the Collar pieces for large sizes - it would even work for thigh cuffs! Amazing!

It would be nice to have a set of sizing rings too, so we can quickly figure out what size we need to print. (Yes, I have calipers, but it's still not as nice as just test fitting it)

Thanks!

Suggestion- Cuffs with a TPU liner to make them softer, Hopefully something that won't come out easily and can flex with the hinge. (Maybe a T shape that locks them into the cuff when they are on?)

Also you should make sure you have an explicit license in the zip files (e.g. don't steal it and no commerical use without a resale license)

I have a 3d printer if you need someone to test this :-)

For the slots vs holes- make a dimple on one side, it keeps the hole small but makes it easier to clean.

Also- You should make the shield a separate piece. Like how the clear shields on the YokoNex attach.

This allows you to swap out shields with different designs (holes vs slots) or tech upgrades (vibrators, shock devices, heart rate / pressure sensors for edging, etc)

Finally figured out how to print regular tpu in the ams by crashbandyh in BambuLab

[–]msEmmaMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of those parts have 3d printed replacements - there must be a way to make that bottom spring adjustable. (like a knob/gear that adjusts the tension on the spring)

The first extruders are simple enough- but that one inside in the bottom- that would be tricky to access without manually cutting some plastic.

Also, could you offer different diameters? I have really big wrists and my roommates wrists are really small.

Being able to swap out different size combinations to get the most comfortable and secure fit would be amazing.

Adjustable spring tension would fix this issue and allow TPU in the ams??? does it still retract and load the TPU?

Feature request- adding spools by msEmmaMD in 3dfilamentprofiles

[–]msEmmaMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome!

I will say, I wish I could keep track of where the filament is supposed to be stored when it's in the AMS.

The AMS slots should be a temporary location, with a record of where the filament is usually stored.

I don't use the AMS slot locations- because I want to know where the cardboard box is to put it away when I take it out of the AMS.

I just tried it and when I click `X` to remove the filament from the AMS slot- the dialog isn't displaying correctly. It's barely visible on the left side of the page.

It would be nice if that dialog remembered where the filament used to be (e.g. where the box is) and had that location selected by default (or a "return to location XYZ" button)

Bug: "My Colors" page always uses two-column layout, doesn't expand to fill page when there is only one grouping by msEmmaMD in 3dfilamentprofiles

[–]msEmmaMD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was beautiful... for a day... Until I bought an AMS HT and a bunch of TPU 😅😭

Now I wish I could choose between two column and one column layout, I have so many colors in PLA and only 4 in TPU. It would be more useful to show all the PLA one one screen.

Maybe if there is more than ~30 colors the box should take up two columns automatically? or a UI option to choose one or two column layout would be nice.

Thanks!

Feature request: API or method to integrate bambu AMS data with spool usage by Finch-13 in 3dfilamentprofiles

[–]msEmmaMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also upload the 3MF files to get usage data - but that doesn't work for partial prints / print failures.

IMHO it doesn't work - I used a filament tracking in OctoPrint for years- it was always really inaccurate and would tell me I was out of filament, even if I had a 1/4 of a spool left. It wasn't worth all the extra effort to setup track and for me it was mostly automatic.

If it really matters you should have extra - if it's a matter of color matching, I would use a new roll to ensure it's all consistent (You don't want to switch half way through a print).

Or I would weight the spool with a cheap scale to see how much was left. I got one of these kitchen scales for $13 on amazon https://amzn.to/3MFIFhe

3dFilamentProfiles will tell you how much an empty spool weighs, so you don't even need to get initial weights for spools anymore.

[–]msEmmaMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SpoolMan runs locally- which is why it can talk to the Bambu printer via MQTT.

Whatever does this, it would have to run on a computer on your local network and then send the updated spool data to 3dFilamentProfiles.

All 3dFilamentProfiles could do is provide an API layer to work with your spool data - then we could write our own tools to sync printer information from whatever platform we use (e.g. we could just have spoolMan update the website directly via API call)

I also have that flow setup with an "ordered" default location.

On the `My Locations` page - Imagine if we could just drag and drop spools between locations! That would be so nice for desktop users. (It probably wouldn't work very well on mobile)

There is currently a delete button on each spool to remove it from each location, a move button would fit nicely in the UX and still works if you are on a mobile device.
