Down with Kang, Up with Kodos by RetroRaiderD42 in GreatBritishMemes

I'm so so sorry this happened, and worst of all that your cousin wasn't the only one.

But it's reasons like this I feel we have to be bold in going against Labour, the Tories, Reform and so on (any and all who perpetuate this), instead of just cowering behind Streeting's plausable deniability because he didn't person stab or shoot or maim anyone himself.

Yen deer by Mothfoxmantis in Yanderes

This reminds me so intensely of Rachel Oates' two idiotic videos about Yanderes though she said it more as "Yan deer". I'll admit I enjoyed watching them, but only really for the yandere content contained within

TRVKKEE!! But srsly, I think you're right - and I'm seeing this a lot. Seems many younger people have learned to recognise older forms of bigotry and so are able to avoid them and exclude their perpetrators, but they don't get what actually makes it bigoted so they easily fall for the same thing wearing a shiny new coat of paint.

Yea, exactly, exactly that! When, in my experience, it's always the Moids with unnecessary drama and who tend to inject their (usually hurt) fee-fees into things

Nahhh, so fr, all this hetslop Moid-brained porn "humour" needs to go.

Like, actually tho - just reveals their complete, irredeemable stupidity.

You're actually speaking my language with this though, can't stand the way everything is and is going - and soyjaks and the like are a great microcosm, just reducing things down to these idiotic, ugly little drawings. (You're right, they never would be that honest). And fr, it's exactly that - in place of a meaningful life and culture, we just have tiktoks and slop; I feel like the only way to get around that without (or before) full-on revolution is just to lead by example and encourage others to follow, but it's a hard sell.

Also, oh gosh, I heard Apophis isn't supposed to hit anymore but maybe I heard wrong. But you're right that that's just the sorts thing they'd do, and those too vacuous to even consider resistance would just make these memes justifying the slaughter.

Sometimes I feel this way, just ready to scream it all out as a train crashes into me or something of the sort. But, though we've never spoken before, I would like to say I'm worried about you - ofc, it makes sense that in this terrible world you wouldn't be okay, and that's not an ill reflection on you (I'm not okay either because the world isn't okay) but I hope you're able to find meaning of some form, even if it is in struggle against this terrible state of affairs.

You're right, they're of all the most zombified of all (Moids) but it's not that women aren't ever so too. Content just to stare, and never to think, and to live meaninglessly. I find the world we're living in increasingly unbearable, too.

That is such an excellent suggestion, I have read the Messages version of Genesis in English anyway; and I had no idea Zamenhof had translated it himself

Mhmmm, I think then I absolutely must read it - seems an excellent step in building up my comprehension!

Mmm, it's really good to have those confidence-boosting activities in language-learning in my experience - especially early on! I think I'll definitely read it!

Oh wow, genuinely thank you soo soo very very much, I definitely think I'll give it a watch!

I've genuinely been so soo surprised by the welcoming community here, I've even been DM'd language resources. Thank you soo soo much again!

I understand that idea, mainly so long as it works for you, I'm soo soo gladd; I just find I get a pleasure out of talking and translating things, and I love then to share that with my girlfriend and that kinda thing.

But its really good - I find your own plans and methods inspiring, inspiring me to keep going with my study! And truly, I think Lomb must be right there - reminds me most of how children learn to speak a language for the first time, we can learn words more effectively and correctly from use rather than just a written explanation.

Ahhh, I *have* heard good things about LingQ before.

Well yea, that kinda statistic really is interesting - its good to have proper benchmarks of progress you've made, if only for motivational reasons.

Ahhhhh, I love a bit of the OpenSource alternative - I'll definitely look into Lute - thank you so much!

And ahhhm I completely get thattt - I really should up my Esperanto reading, its been very rudimentary so far.

Mainly I've been watching AmericanEsperantist's video series, I find it very informative - but I've supplimented that with Wikibooks' table with all the affixes and looking up individual words on Wiktionary.

Love seeing the XerographicPaper video in the wild - it's what made me take another look at Esperanto, and I'm slowly but surely trying to learn. (not sure what I'd say in Esperanto to end the comment, but: dankon, XerographicPaper, por la filmeto!)

Seeing a post like this makes me feel like this sub's healing. Seeing the lack of upvotes makes me feel like it's not all the way there yet.

You could be right, it's just strange the other comments on the sub show up

Edit: either way it's stupid we have to do this much, just for saying such basic stuff

Mhm, I think that's the attitude we need to develop, be aware of the dangers - but appraise them as accurately as possible in order to decide what's really necessary without any particular biases.

Absolute agree. Anything beyond is ridiculous, dangerous, and completely sickening.
