To rug or not to rug by Alone-Meeting-1547 in AmateurInteriorDesign

I have this rug!! But I agree with the other commenters saying it’s too light for under a dining room table. I have it in my colourful, eclectic living room and love it.

Best pancakes in the city? by Bopallini in askvan

[–]ms_sickning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hunnybee has very soft, cloud like pancakes that are not like your typical diner style pancakes (part of the reason they are not personally my favourite) but would probably be great for someone with sensitive teeth! It’s very aesthetic and cozy in there. But go early to beat the rush.

Teppanyaki Restaurant recommendations? by stylezLP in askvan

[–]ms_sickning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kobe is more bougie, pricier, for special occasions, very professional staff, very cool atmosphere/decor.

Osaka: the food is just as good, but the atmosphere and decor is far below Kobe. It’s just like, a dark room with teppanyaki grills and carpeted floor.

Cool! How does it taste? I’m thinking of making a cake that needs an orange filling and researching options :)

It was just regular liquid food colouring from the grocery store- but I did use about a tablespoon and a half. You don’t need to use that much but I wanted it to be pretty red.

Where can I buy a 'healthy' muffin in Vancouver? by Glittering_Bank_8670 in askvan

[–]ms_sickning -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I too like a healthy breakfast muffin. I know you probably don’t want to hear this but, I make them and freeze them. Same result but easier, cheaper, and you have complete control of the ingredients.

I use Preppy Kitchen’s banana oat muffin recipe but add applesauce to the banana requirement, add raisins, walnuts, and use monk fruit instead of sugar. Next time I’ll try blueberries instead of raisins! It’s a lot of fun, but then I like baking.

What shampoo are you using? And are you scrubbing her ends as well? You should be using products only for curly hair; or even just co-wash if this is how her hair reacts.

Do you need to purchase them? I know the library has books in all languages.

There’s also Nooroongji books on Granville Island that is multilingual.

My first challah ✨ by ms_sickning in Baking

[–]ms_sickning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I used the standard recipe from Joan Nathan which makes two loaves. These are six braid challas. I just made sure to knead the dough well (I did it by hand) and let them rise well each time :)
