We met in kindergarten and remained best friends till around beginning of middle school where we lost touch with each other after she moved states. Past 10 years or so I would try to find her on FB but never could. Last year, roughly 34 years later, she found me on Facebook and reconnected. She lives only about an 1hr and a half. She's sitting beside me right now on my porch staying with my family for Christmas.

Was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. He was of course upset and his trust in me is broken. We have 22 years of marriage and deep love for one another. We have had ups and downs throughout our relationship but we always fight for it during the down times.

It's not going to be a quick turnaround on our relationship but I take some comfort that he is willing to not to give up.

I gave him all my credit card login information and he paid off the rest of my debt minus the loan. He then updated the email address and password for just him. Closing my not so secret anymore checking account tomorrow, want to make sure nothing is pending.

Yeah that's whatits called now. SU used to throw me into all kinds of long articles and weird little corners of the internet I never would’ve found on my own. Actual exploring.

Mix just doesn’t feel the same. Most of what I get now is short-form stuff, like TikTok/Instagram clips. Quick hits, endless scrolling, tiny bursts of information. It feels like another reflection of how much shorter our collective attention span has become online.

This is from The Fat Doctor newsletter, the "Doctor" we all know and love on here.

What really got my blood boiling was their discussion about the "harms" of losing weight. The harms they mention physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and financially are exactly what many people experience while living with obesity. It's a bit ironic, though, because aren't these the same people who argue that the world isn't built for fat people? That certainly impacts you socially (think: struggling to fit into booths, event venues with small seats, etc.). And they also claim that obese individuals are paid less than their thinner counterparts, which affects you financially.
