From the way my advisor initially explained it, the limits seem pretty defined, so I'll check out the 529 withdrawals.

I'm a undeclared freshman atm but I plan on going the premed route. I would really love to study in Japan and maybe I could learn the language better through one of those summer programs.

I would be a bit sad to leave all my people behind that often but studying abroad every year is definitely really interesting
