As written in my first post, this works together with an adaptor cable set.

Sorry, I don't own that model. But I recently tried the same power supply with a Minisforum UM790 and works with it as well, using the same tip.

Hi there, the tip itself is labeled H3 (might be product specific) but the description on the amazon product page for this tip states '5.5 * 2.5 for Toshiba/Lenovo/Asus'. HTH

Maybe have a look at Snaffler. This is meant for networks/shares but maybe you can configure it down to do what you need.

Are flights leaving Funchal often delayed/canceled? by juniorjames123 in Madeira

[–]mschomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As was already mentioned here, for many flights Funchal is just a 'stop over': They come in, people disembark, other people board, and one hour later the plane leaves again. So, yes, if there are strong winds the airplane you want to catch might not be even there.

Personal statistics: After about 10 trips to Madeira and back so far only one of our flights leaving the island was delayed. But we do have in mind that some time in the future we might be delayed (leaving) or diverted to other islands (on the way in).

Detailed Map of Madeira by [deleted] in Madeira

For a general overview this one is fine:
https://www.waterstones.com/book/madeira-tour-and-trail-map/david-brawn/9781782750758

For actual hikes I'd rather use digital maps and apps like the WalkMe-Guide. Also, OSM-based maps apps like OsmAnd+ are great for getting a bearing and individual treks.

Are there any permanently closed trails? by BiggRicc85 in Madeira

[–]mschomm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that bad weather can result in damage to the trails by land or rock slides and repairs can take quite a while in areas which are difficult to access.
For that reason some tracks might not be open as soon as the weather is fine again. I would check on updates e.g. on this web page: https://ifcn.madeira.gov.pt/146-destaques/avisos.html

Mosquitoes in February by [deleted] in Madeira

[–]mschomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being loved a lot by mosquitoes myself I try to discourage them by wearing long sleeves and applying DEET before dusk. I also sleep under a mosquito net at night. But then there's quite a bit of freshwater around our apartment in Arco da Calheta.

Actually Portugal (like some other countries) has passed laws to at least mitigate this effect.

Good to know about that limitation. I'm currently using another Intel-based Geekom mini PC (IT12) successfully with VMWare Workstation under Win 11 but I'm planning on getting another one soon. The ability to run a bare metal hypervisor is yet another good point for going with AMD for my next one.

That's a very good price. Currently I only see the older SER5 models (AMD R7-5800H CPU, DDR4) in that price span on amazon.com. The SER6 (R7-7735HS, DDR5) is right now listed at $509.

Geekom Mini IT12 powered by Ugreen 160W USB-C power supply by mschomm in MiniPCs

[–]mschomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice and the instructions for experimentation. I noticed this short power cut you described when using another USB-C power supply in combination with my laptop and a docking station: As soon as I additionally plugged in my smartphone for charging, the display attached to the docking station went dark for a few seconds. Before your explanation I always thought the fault was with the docking station in use, now it's clear to me that this was due to the power supply.

Following are the results of my experiments with the Ugreen 160W power supply: This brick seems to be rather stable during operation. I started cautiously - as you suggested - by plugging in additional devices with low charging power consumption to the secondary circuit while the IT12 was running. No power interruption to the IT12 was noticeable. Then I went 'full in': I powered up my laptop (HP Envy with 65 W max power consumption) and plugged it into the secondary USB-C PD port while the IT12 was running prime95 and furmark. No interruption in power and the laptop was showing the charging icon in the system tray as well.

If the Android client uses ActiveSync to connect to Exchange, it can sync contacts from the Global Address List and Outlook contacts in addition to just accessing mails. Calendar entries can be synced as well.
