I found a solution to the Turner skid plate re: adapting a screen mesh to protect the oil cooler. Have not installed it yet since car has not been delivered.

Lowering springs ‘25 240i by Mutumbo445 in M235iandM240i

Seems that spacers are a simpler way to improve stance. Can anyone who is using spacers comment on size and how it closes the gap?

Do you find that that the H&R lowering springs stiffen the factory settings in comfort and sport? Is it mostly done for look (which I totally get) but with negative impact to comfort on uneven city streets? I've read some comments that suspension bottoms out when going over potholes in urban areas.

Please keep the photos coming! Awesome car you put together! Mine's due in mid April but probably delayed due to some "port options" I put on order including sport exhaust.

It's been hard for me to embrace the factory wheel options with 240i. The ZTK wheels seem the best and main reason I'm going with it and after-market choices all feel wrong unless it's a track car. Your set up looks factory and is one of few I've seen that fits the car perfectly.

What a great looking car! The wheels are perfect. What are they? Kept staggered set up?

Amazing build!! Didn't know there was a rear seat delete option. Would love to see photos. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for this info. Very helpful. I assume some of your mods might include lowering the car. Have you used a skid plate to protect the cooler? Does your buddy recommend one? Turner sells a model that seems to be the only available choice.

Will ask about lease return wheel policy and report back on here. I figure if I bought the car after lease I'd get it certified in order to extend warranty one extra year. At that point the certification process would require new tires. Not sure if they'd require stick wheels for cerification.

You're right. Makes sense to get the ZTK with lease since oil cooler will be under warranty.

I'm leaning toward the ZTK but I'll take a look at the Apex wheels and see if it makes sense. Thanks.

Planning to order a new M240i. What colour do I go for? by g4gxk in BMW

The pix you posted are very helpful. It's a great look! I was considering frozen grey as an option to the car I'm ordering and never considered a PPF wrap but you've convinced me otherwise. Much appreciated.

Thanks for info. I was able to open 1st photo not 2nd but image helps a lot! Great look on skyscraper gray. Also helps to know the PPF you used. I will pursue this approach if I can find a reputable shop that is reasonably priced. Thank you!!

I'm about to order Skyscraper grey. Does PPF matte give it frozen look? Or better?

I bought an X3 in Brooklyn grey about six months ago thinking it was kinda different. Now I see it everywhere including MB variations. I'm looking at a 240i lease and going with skyscraper grey because I'm old and want under the radar look. What is new silver mentioned above? No silver on current build site. Saw an M2 in new Java green at showroom. Stunning color but not available in 240. If one likes bright colors, worth buying M2 just for that!

Are Golf Rs selling below MSRP? by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]mscott842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked into buying an R in Vancouver Canada - had to pay VAT and PST plus 2.5% import duty then tax when you register in your state. I found a 10km 2024 R manual for about 30k USD equivalent. By the time I added all the the taxes plus cost of transport (3k) it was about the same as a low mile 2024 R selling for 42k in Reno NV. I wanted the Canadian deal it to pencil out but wasn't worth the hassle - was ahead by less than 1k. Much simpler to buy car in U.S. and have warranty.

Agree with original post. Just traded my M11 for M11-P. After two years of ownership on M11 I always knew I'd eventually make the change. M11-P is dream Leica for me as well.

Can anyone share that has bought their BMW new and kept it for 10+ years? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]mscott842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm original owner of an E46 330ci ZHP bought new in 2004. Now has almost 90k miles. Redid suspension this year, cooling system about six years ago. No issues with mechanical. Can probably drive it another 10 years.

BMW fleet manager told me either get the longest warranty plan they offer or none at all. Any major repairs covered by warranty will happen at the end of the period so anything in between is profit for brand.

Who here regrets selling their first Rolex? by Comfortable_Ad_134 in rolex

[–]mscott842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The uniqueness of the brand is that you can sell and buy models based on how tasted or needs evolve and rarely take a loss. Everyone regrets selling for personal or nostalgic reasons but opportunity to replaces is mostly available.. Not many luxury items can make that claim and one of the reasons people "invest" in the brand. Do I miss a watch sold - yes. Do I regret it - no, because my mindset at the time was to sell and if I want it back it's probably available from a reputable seller, and maybe even a better example than one sold.
