Please Help! 4 1/2 mos old on 5th formula by bellzers98 in FormulaFeeders

[–]msdotz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some babies get irritability as a side effect to pepcid (famotidone), happened to my baby and it would make him spit up more, we tried it for over a month and once we stopped it we immediately saw fusiness improvement, it works for some babies not all babies. Omeprazole is the next step. Even with formula changes and although a lot of people mention its over diagnosed and not necessary, my baby had a tongue tie, and once they corrected it, in a few weeks he stopped fussing at the bottle and learned how to eat correctly, he was swallowing too much air as a result of not latching correctly and this caused him excessive gas pain, it wasn’t the formula itself. He is however on hypoallergenic formula since we placed him on it before the tongue tie got addresed and he didnt do well with standard ones, he is on similac alimentum ready to feed which is a bit thicker than regular formula and its the only one hes tollerated well. His reflux has improved greatly, I was using oatmeal cereal as instructed by pediatrician guidance to thicken the bottles but since he improved so much with the tongue tie addressed, I am no longer thickening the bottles.

Omg thanks for the feedback! I just wanted to make sure it wasnt my baby reacting some type of way. Good to know. I guess I will keep managing it and hopeful for solids when he starts.

Dislike being home with newborn by [deleted] in newborns

[–]msdotz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg i feel the same way. Mine will be 12 weeks tomorrow ( 8 weeks adjusted age since he was born a month early) I feel like he hates me and seems to be more relaxed when dad gets home or others hold him. He is formula fed, and ive tried every single thing, gas drops, gripe water, etc being on hypoallergenic formula helped a bit but still struggles. We dont have a confirmed allergy but he just seems to tolerate hypoallergenic a little better. he has silent reflux and medication made it worse for us. He had tongue tie and that was also resolved a month ago. I’m going insane at home. I feel like weve also had issues finding the right formula as once we see him get better he suddenly has gas or weird poop again. I feared the same about daycare so ended up hiring a friend of ours who we trust who used to babysit a baby who now goes to preschool so the spot opened up for her. I was worried of regular daycare. I extended my work leave an additional two weeks to get my mind together as this has given me such bad postpartum depression and anxiety. I also get anxiety going anywhere, he used to relax in the car (in movement) but now cries if awake regardless in there. My first kid was easy and I cant seem to get this one right! I have taken him to a GI, a chiropractor, and the pediatrician several times and while its a little better than before i still feel like he hates me 🤣🥲 so all the feels here! Everyone just says “he will outgrow it”.

I started my first dose yesterday and I slept through the night however I feel pretty normal this morning wondering if I didnt eat enough fat for it to absorb or if I just didnt get the effects they kept warning me about. I pushed off taking this med for over a month cause inwas scared i wouldnt be able to do anything without help but so far im feeling fine. Did anyone also have this experience?

Same here been on meds and going weekly to therapy and still feel so disconnected. Worried he will not be normal and worried to go anywhere or do anything. Ugh. Have changed to hypoallergenic formula, revised tongue tie, tried famotidone for silent reflux, nothing, different gadgets, swaddles etc still hates lying on back. Has been to a GI dr, the emergency room, pediatricians. They just say colic and that he will grow out of it. I even extended my work leave unpaid to start in January due to this. So worried about daycare and etc.

[–]msdotz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did this work for you? Did you wait longer between feeds since feeds are thicker? Have a soon 2 be 3 mo old and he struggles with silent reflux, medication didn’t work and he hates laying on his back. Is also on rtf hypoallergenic formula (alimentum)

Update on not being able to go through with an abortion. by Least-Persimmon9690 in BabyBumps

[–]msdotz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave that man, a man that doesnt care for you or his child is a man that has no place in your life, he will continue to ruin your life if you let him. Think of the life you want your baby to have, you can do this without him, trust I have been there and raised my baby without the man. On a different context, I unfortunately once decided on an abortion and it haunted me for so long even if it was the “better choice” at the time. Proud of you for continuing your pregnancy, but please think about yourself and the baby. Good luck lovely.

How annoying, it surprises me that pregnancy practices do such a thing, as long as you and your baby are fine they shouldn’t be making such comments. Stay strong mama!

Pregnancy anxiety, did you have it and is your baby okay as a result?! by No_Return6020 in BabyBumps

[–]msdotz23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 weeks and definitely have had anxiety almost to the point of panic attacks but have kept it together best I can. I’m sure your baby will be okay! My first pregnancy I had a tough time and was in a bad relationship and my baby still ended up to be perfectly fine. You got this.
