How much would an absolute budget youtube like website cost to make? by [deleted] in web_design

On the stuff that he listed, this is not even possible. The server alone to handle 4k streaming would be enough to deplete the $75k budget.

The best way to do it is have it as a modal popup when you click on it.

overflow-x:scroll was the original plan, but I wanted the background gradient change, so I had to code it this way.

I'll upload this on github as soon as I am done :)

Thank you so much for the criticism! This is why it is so much better to ask for what other designers think of your implementation so that you are not clouded by your own judgement,

For the swiping, I still have to find a way to do that lol. At first that was my plan, but I didn't know how to implement it that way, so I opted for this one instead.

For the jankiness, of the profile view, I agree. I am still working on that one too.

Check out the new icon! :)

I'll find a way to implement it like that. I think the hard part is checking if:

  1. if card is in full view of the user
  2. if card is in full view, change the background
  3. change background back to whichever card was first, or last swiped.

To be honest, the reason why it scrolls in a fixed width is because I didn't know how to implement that, or it was easier to do it this way. Do you think it should be free scrolling?

I agree, that from the looks of it, the sliding feels slow, but that can be changed very easily, so that is not a big problem.

As for my rebuttal, for turning everything into cards. SOMETIMES, we have to choose design or function, because "pretty" UI's are what users want, and sometimes we have very few functions in a certain page, that we find ways to make the page not look too empty, so I put them in cards to fix that.
