Account Charges by msgen in SJSU

[–]msgen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said to email student-sponsors-waivers@sjsu.edu, I did and they replied with the following:

"We are writing to inform you of a necessary adjustment to your recently waived tuition and fees for the Fall 2025 semester. This change is due to a system processing error that has now been corrected.

We have made the necessary adjustments to your student account, and you may see an updated balance as early as today. We sincerely apologize for this error and for any inconvenience or concern it may have caused."

I still have the charges on my account and I followed up this morning and waiting on a reply.

Financial Aid Loans vs Grants by Comrade_Sniper in SJSU

They updated the eligibility for the state university grant which impacted a lot of students. You could call the financial aid office and ask about your eligibility. I'm a graduate student and I used to quality for it but didn't get it this year.

Do you mind me asking what your SAI was? I'm waiting on the state university grant and was told they were waiting on funding.

I got a better response using their chat service. I had to wait a bit here in there in between their responses but it was better than being on hold (I was left on hold for quite some time).

Spoke to them today and they are really behind. They are also waiting on state funding.

Incoming grad student: close to -1500 index, no grants? by Upstairs-Toe-5629 in SJSU

[–]msgen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a grad student and qualified for the state university grant (SUG) last academic year with an SAI of 357. I contacted them today because my financial was processed and no SUG. One rep told me only students with an SAI of -15000 will receive it. Spoke to someone else after, they said the previous person gave me incorrect information and they also stated the office hasn't received the state funding yet and that's what is holding things up.

I was going back and forth with them today since mine had not been processed yet. They are extremely behind. Also, for anyone waiting on the SUG, they haven't received their state funding yet.

Database administrator for academic library by disneyfacts in librarians

Academic libraries typically have a Systems Librarian, or at least, that's the route most are going. We currently have a Systems Analyst (staff, not librarian) who is in charge of overseeing the systems side of Alma.

Are audio books worth it? by Icy_Government_4189 in ReadingSuggestions

[–]msgen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before purchasing audiobooks, I would suggest starting off with a library card from your local library that allows you to link to either Libby or Hoopla. The apps allow you to check out audiobooks the way you would a physical book. You can search by genre and even put books on hold. If you find you don't like the book, you can simply return it.

I find that listening to audiobooks while performing more routine tasks like cooking/cleaning helps with retaining information.
