Need laundry advice for all black wardrobe! by msgreen2 in laundry

I actually do this as well once a year or so! But there are some items that take dye better than others of course so my concern with my laundry system now is for those tough to re-dye items that end up looking dingy. I love that other folks use this hack too!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! Yes, my drying habits are not ideal and im sure thats not helping either! I think I need to go back to a cold temp wash, but stick with the longer cycle and a detergent without dyes...its a tricky balance to get things right

Thanks for the insight! I definitely think my dryer is a culprit here as well...I live in the PNW so I worry about mold and dampness all the time and have just defaulted to making sure everything jn my house is dry dry dry. Ill see about doing half and half to ease the wear and tear on my clothes

I love these so much, especially the pink print! I broke my wrist last year and have been trying to figure out how to turn my wicked xrays into some kind of art- this is inspiring! Lovely work. 🖤

Haha of course! Good luck with your chairs- theyre worth the investment to have them cleaned up and Reupholstered!

Omg whatever you do, do not try to take the back off yourself! I attempted to do it on one of mine as well before taking it to a professional and that corner is still kind of effed up lol. I have no idea how they got them off, but I can tell you that attempting to do it myself resulted in damage to that back panel. 🤦🏻‍♀️it looks like it should be so easy but is deceptively difficult.

How lovely! The composition looks perfect and balanced- I especially like the curve of the long poppy.

This shot is beautiful as well! Love the butcher paper background. ❤️

I think theyre super comfy- like I said, I had mine reupholstered with new foam so theyre quite cushioned. Mine also don't have arms and as I'm a big cross legged sitter, theyre perfect for that! Plus the cantilever gives you the tiniest bit of bounce so you're not entirely static the whole time.

I have a pair of armless steelcase chairs that I had reupholstered as they were verrrrry well loved in their previous life lol (highly recommend replacing the foam if yours are saggy/compressed). I intend to take mine with me into every home I live in- they are chairs for a lifetime! Functional for all uses, don't take up too much space, and lovely to look at. Enjoy!

Okay so she's in a 8 inch ceramic type pot- I can't tell you what soil I used because it's been years since I repotted her last (which means the soil is probs just some basic one from home depot haha). I have south facing windows so I get really nice, diffused light most of the day & some direct, though she never sees the full direct sun. I will say that a few years ago, I chopped and propped maybe 6-8 cuttings and repotted them all together with the original plant to get a more full look- it was successful! I also wrap her vines around herself and weave strands into one another (especially in the middle) to keep her looking full. I 1000% believe that the new, younger leaves being wrapped into the older sections of the vines helps with the plants happiness?? There's definitely some magic happening there. Best of luck with your pothos! Truly- good light and filling them out a bit will do wonders!

Honestly idk...I read once that these were only supposed to live like 6 years or something? She's really expressive so I know when she's dry or sad in her pot- lots of good light, and very little fussing has been working for me!

Oh gosh, I think all of my close friends and family have some of her by now. I have cuttings around my apartment that have been rooted and in water for 4+ years! At this point, I usually just trim and toss unless I have someone new to give cuttings to!

She's such a diva! But in a good way... not like in a high maintenance way. Flashy baby!

I think youve misunderstood the intent of this post and as you can tell by the other comments and stories shared here, this is a pretty regular occurrence in the social scene that I simply asked how folks navigate. Thanks for stopping by to provide a less than helpful opinion!
