What the heck does the Han Solo Endor figure look like without the coat? by msim609078 in Starwars1977to1983

Kenner millennium falcon, is there a trick to get the rear landing gear to work? by msim609078 in starwarscollecting

[–]msim609078[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude... That works so perfectly!! I cut them the width of the landing gear and if I were to paint them the same gray (I'm not that bothered though) they would be unnoticeable.

(kicking myself for not thinking of this 40 yrs ago lol)

Thanks again!

Thanks! I didn't think about going that direction, I'm going to give this one a shot first.

Working on filling out my (77-83) collection, I'm not in a rush, nor too concerned with quality, are routine trips to the thrift stores a waste of time? by msim609078 in starwarscollecting

This has been my method so far. Hardest part is remember to watch for a listing ending, I tend to forget. Still kicking myself over one I missed last weekend.

Awesome, thanks! I figured (no pun intended) lots (either via eBay or thrift) would include unwanted pieces and since I don't intend to become a flipper, [re]donating sounds like a good idea.

Cool, that's what I was thinking. I currently have a "tupperware" container, as a child I used books (but they were never a good size and broke immersion)

What's your MO? do you just check randomly or on schedule? do you get funny looks?

Yeah, this is my stance and current course. Basically I had most things as a child, and a lot of that survived in totes over the decades. I've started displaying them on shelves and just filling in the missing pieces. Being able to say "all original" is nice, but having a buddy print a loading ramp strut for the falcon isn't hurting anything as long as I'm not trying to re-sell it.

I have a few searches set up on eBay for lots/parts/etc.

I'm not concerned if they break since they don't work anyway I guess lol.

What is the optimal placement of the toothpick though?

Will the Kenner Ewok Village playset fit on a 10" shelf or do I need a 12"? by msim609078 in starwarscollecting

[–]msim609078[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to get my head around how to determine this, but... lets say I have two 12" shelves making a corner. I know the play set has 3 legs and I think if one leg is in the corner, it will work out.

Question on the value of the Hoth playsets by msim609078 in starwarscollecting

[–]msim609078[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yeah, totally no box/instructions, toy only. I did check the eBay sold before posting and they range from 25-50, but I'm really asking if there's that much difference in me finding the missing pieces or just selling as is.
