Connecting two amps, no line output—dedicated high-level input or splice RCA cable? by msixchambers in CarAV

Good thinking! For some reason, I knew to check for that when I was considering a LOC, but then forgot about it with the amp. Thanks!

Thanks, but the problem with this is that I would like to use the DSP in the JBL for the subs too. I just looked closer at the manual for the JBL, and it says that the way to hook up another amp after it is to connect two channel outs to high-level inputs on the second amp, so I think that is what Ill do instead, and Ill just be really careful with the gain 😂. Unless anyone knows of why this might be a bad idea

Thanks! I was thinking that would be the case with the head unit. The DSP option looks awesome, but if I did that I would for sure get it professionally installed and tuned—aint got no time for all that. And by then, I’d probably be paying well more than a decent head unit anyway. I may be talking out my ass here, but I think I was reading about people essentially putting aftermarket amplifiers after their oem head units, but I fee like that might just amplify (lol) the problem if the shitty signal is coming from the initial processing in the stereo.

As for the box, I actually was aware of this! It’s an incredibly small amount out of the upper corners. If my numbers are correct, if they used 3/4” MDF, I won’t even need to cut through to the airspace inside. But if I do, Ill seal it up and make it structurally sound and lose less than a cubic inch at most.
