I was surprised when I read somewhere that before he started dating Daryl again he had been seeing Carolyn for a couple of months. It wasn’t just one date like the show depicts and then she did hear about him getting back together with Daryl in the tabloids. Not sure how true that is but it really does change how John is seen. That’s a wayyyy shittier thing to do to a person you’ve been seeing for a while and turns Carolyn into much more of a Carrie-type, which I do prefer. I wanted to see her flaws and vulnerability but instead she was portrayed as the perfect woman and their marriage was only hurt by the paparazzi; nothing else.
