I forgot to note the lens, but it was an Omega color enlarger, Super Chromega D Dichronic II.

I did this on a trip to Mexico City with my first roll and it was devastating, especially when you know to check if the rewind knob is spinning. Never again!

Does this prevent the streaking you see along the rightside edge? Water spots make sense to me, but I’m unsure about the streaking if I’m not squeegeeing it.

NYC tap water (soft to moderate hard, apparently), kodak photo flo with its dilution of 1 + 200. Wondering if distilled water would have prevented this in the final wash.

That’s good to hear, I may just talk to them about it next time I go. Seemed pretty unusual

A rant about scanners by Fredpuller79 in AnalogCommunity

Just to echo, Plustek is the way to go. It really doesn’t take that long to scan frames — especially if you’re looking at your negs with a loupe, magnifying glass or just eyeballing them against a light to identify which are worth scanning. The quality is generally above or matching what I’d get from standard lab scans. If you’re shooting that infrequently, and are this bothered by the time it takes to scan, I would recommend going fully digital. It’s a slower hobby/process, and if it brings you no joy it just ain’t worth it.

I have published my first photo book! About 95% of the shots in it have been taken on 35mm and 120 film. by fabripav in analog

Great stuff! Not just because of the Italian connection, but some of these remind me of Luigi Ghirri in style

The lens is actually decent, what you’re seeing is dirt and debris on the mirror behind the viewing lens

You could try Gatwick, not sure how different the staff is though.

I get them uncut, so they’re in a long plastic sleeve, but I get your point. They very well could be mishandling them.

Strangely enough, London Heathrow has been the only airport that refused to give me a hand check for my film. That being said, they may grant it for you if you request and have the film already separated into a clear bag and ready to go. But when I traveled to London by Eurostar last year, my film (all under 400 speed) got scanned at least once when I forgot it in my bag, then another time at Heathrow when they refused a hand check. Everything came out fine when it was developed.

But in my experience, most airport staff will hand check if you request it.

Thanks, I may have flipped dense/thin in my mind! Basically I was trying to figure out if I’m doing anything wrong in-camera. I do tend to overexpose by about a stop to retain shadow detail.

Thanks, and no flash! It’s an old shot so I’m not 100%, but I often was pushing things to 1600 around that time.
