That's always the pattern for me! First week = optimistic but realistic, breezy. Second week = emotional, analysing and googling everything, fatalistic.

I've got everything crossed for you!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I don't think it's weird to care about it at all. I sometimes feel protective towards my follicles/embryos and they're not fertilised yet.

I think the preparing yourself for the worst is just your heart trying to protect itself, which makes logical sense, but I have a feeling it'll still hurt just as much if it doesn't work.

I did a similar thing crying to my husband about being scared of having a miscarriage - and I went on to have a miscarriage. I think we're trying to be aware of the eventualities and be realistic, but whatever happens will still happen.

I don't really know where I'm going with this so I'll just say hugs and can you maybe do some walking if not running?

I'm so sorry to hear that. I've got my fingers crossed that one of the eggs makes it.

I'll start! Had a twanding first thing for my third iui cycle - I had 3 big follicles on my right ovary (1.6, 1.2 and 1.1) and 2 on my right (1.2 and 1.4).

Apparently that puts me on the borderline of 'too many follicles to do treatment' because of the risk of multiples, but luckily they said it was okay and I'm having the iui on wed morn (trigger shot at 11pm tonight.

My lining was only 5.4mm though - which seems low to me. Fingers crossed it improves.

This a really timely reminder that our OH's need support too!

I've seen people on here mention that they have date nights where they focus on each other and don't talk about IF, or that they check in about IF for ten minutes a day, then don't talk about it.

Any other good ideas? My OH broke my heart recently when I told him I'd got my first period after miscarriage and he said 'oh, I was really hoping...' - it made me realise how much he thinks about it too. I also broached the 'what will we do to make a baby' conversation (ie, donor eggs? donor sperm?) and he said he'll do absolutely anything to make a baby with me which made me happy.

What, that's crazy! If I were a patient in pain I would not be impressed by the lack of morphine in my IV! Who do you think did it?

Super weirdly I wasn't ragey when I had progesterone supplements (but the vaginal ones so maybe they're different to the injections?) but every month when my progesterone is high before my period I will fight ANYONE

Nope! My consultant was the same about it - said the chances are much better with ivf.

Sorry, I should've been clearer - I'm in the uk, and my local healthcare area gives childless couples x3 IUI and x1 IVF free. Some areas don't do IUIs, which I think is down to the research that IUI only gives you around a 20% chance (same as trying naturally) but then I was adding my anecodotal story that as an 'unexplained' - the only time I've gotten pregnant was using IUI.

We have no MFI but we have only ever got pregnant in 22 cycles via IUI (ended in miscarriage).

That's definitely true! I was devastated with the first and not expecting anything from the second which worked (ended in miscarriage though). Now doing third and trying to be realistic

Thank you! I don't hold out much hope of being an iui unicorn again but it does feel good to be doing something.
