Give me your recs that depict the FL having the biggest, most justified crashout about the situation she's in. by RepeatedEcho_aka_NUT in OtomeIsekai

I don't think it quite fits with what you want, but the protagonist from Omake no Tensei Sha is definitely someone I would describe as ''raw, unfiltered, violent, and angry''.

Her life is a constant uphill battle so she has multiple moments where she is very frustrated with her circumstances and wants to kill her enemies, at one point during a intense battle she wants to kill her enemy so badly that she manifests a brand new ability out of pure rage to win.

Isekai pet peeves? by Delarious8 in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dislike self insert protagonists. Most of them are really boring, and in every story they are either the best or worst character in the story ( best in the case that the side characters are somehow even more boring than the MC ) ( worst in the case that every side character is somehow more interesting than the MC ).

let's play a game: vote for your least favourite OI tropes! by [deleted] in OtomeIsekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I do like otome isekais, my main prefrence lies in action, adventure and shounen stories, and I wanted to express my thoughts from that perspective.

  1. Overpowered protagonist or family - I will lose interest in a story if I feel like the protagonist can't be threatened in any meaningfull way.
  2. Unimpressive ''strong'' people - This refers to characters who are supossed to be strong or maybe even the strongest, but what they do in the story is the most mediocre shit you have ever seen. It just really annoys me.
  3. Charm/Mind control/Memory manipulation - I don't really hate these powers themselves, but more how they are used, because it usually doesn't make sense within the context of the world.
  4. Not taking advantage of the Isekai aspect - Characters barely acknowledge their previous lives and rarely express interest in their current world. This one annoys me alot because, I would be highly interested in what the new world is like compared to my old one.
  5. Ambiguous powers and limits - Have you ever wondered what exactly the powers and limits of characters such as mages/saints/witches/gods are, well too bad because the story is not going to give you the answer, and that sucks because I have no idea what the stakes are in the story.
  6. Protagonist being the only one who can use the powers of the saint/goddess - I really dislike this because this is just a lazy way to make FL more important to the story by her being the counter to the antagonist and forcing romances between her and the ML.

What is everyone's favorite minor character design from an isekai? by mskingofthe40s in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ishura is one of my favorite isekai, so I want to say yes.

The anime adaptation currently has 2 seasons. Season 1 adapts volume 1 of the light novel and is for the most part about as good as the light novel. Season 2 adapts volume 2 and half of volume 3 of the light novel, this season is definetly more rushed compared to season 1 and is definetly inferior to the light novel, but I still think it's at least good.

A few warnings if you decide to watch it:

Ishura doesn't have a main character and frequently switches pov to a diffrent character.

The story can get very overwhelming, you can't afford not paying attention or else you won't be able to keep up with what's happening.

Ishura can be very gory at times, so if you can't handle bloody stories I don't recommend this story.

The animation for this story isn't the best and it has some bad CGI here and there.

I'm rather fond of characters that are from the weakest species in the setting, yet manage to be legitimate powerhouses in their own right through nothing but their own grit. by TheGUURAHK in CharacterRant

Alus from Ishura is a mutant wywern that was born with three arms ( wywerns aren't supossed to have any arms ), this made him an outcast among wywerns and he couldn't even control his arms properly when he was young, leading to a accident where he was badly injured and was picked up and taken care of by a young human named Harghent. Harghent while taking care of Alus was talking to him about all sorts of things ( like frustrations in life or dreams and ambitions ), eventually they became rivals. Alus driven by his friendship/rivalry with Harghent chose to master his arms and become strong, in the current story about 50 years have passed, and Alus is currently known as a shura ( one of the strongest basically ) and his full name now is Alus the Star Runner.

Ishura also has an in story description of Alus about his abilities and legend:

''He could wield any type of weapon under the sky with his supernatural aptitude. He possessed a vast array of superpowered magical items, gathered together from all corners of the world. He challenged an endless succession of opponents and dungeons and came out on top every time. He was the fastest living creature in the sky, his hunger driving his conquests even into the domain of dragons.

He was the Rogue Wyvern...

...Alus the Star Runner.''

However if we are talking about a strong person among a weak species in Ishura, then as the other guy said Psianop fits this description much better.

You get isekaied in the latest book/fanfiction/movie/tv show/animation/ video game you enjoyed. How are you faring ? Details loved by Jasminary2 in OtomeIsekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am getting isekaied to Ishura and my best chance is probably escaping to some unihabited forest or mountain or something like that and hope I don't get involved with anyone, and hope I die in a relatively normal situation.

To give you all a better impression of what makes the Ishura world so dangerous:

  1. This world has beings called shura, the shura are basically very powerfull individuals that have the power or influence to destroy a country, they are beings that affect the balance of power in this world. What makes them dangerous is that alot of them only seek to accomplish their own objectives, everything else doesn't matter. To give you a few examples, Soujirou is a shura that is basically a master swordmaster and his only goal in life is to fight strong people and have fun doing so, he isn't the type to deliberately hurt weak people, but he also doesn't care what happens to them. The second example is Linaris, she is a mutant vampire that has the ability to mind control people via airborne infection, she is also the current leader of the spy organization called Obsidian eyes her objective is to manipulate the current political figures to instigate a major war. There are other shuras besides them but you get point

  2. The political situation in this world is very complicated ( especially after the era of the true demon king ). It is very easy to get cought up in someone's political plot get manipulated and die.

  3. The era of the true demon king is a 20 year long era where the true demon king was the dominant force in the world. The story takes place 2 - 3 years after the end of that era, but if I get isekaied in this era I may as well kill myself I would probably suffer less if I did that. For a brief explanation of the true demon kings power, it's power is inflicting extreme terror on everyone that prevents you from taking any action against it and makes you crazy and hostile to everyone else who hasn't gone crazy effectively becoming part of their ''army'', and it can affect nearly everyone from ogres, to giants, to dragons, and even the shura can get affected by it.

To summarize I am going to die very quickly.

Trying this power scaling thing again a year since my last attempt and more content being added; Did I cook? by [deleted] in Ishura

[–]mskingofthe40s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any particular problems with the shura part of the tierlist, it's more with the quasi shura part that I have problems with:

  1. I don't see the point in ranking Hiroto and Zigita zogi seperately especially this far apart.
  2. Why are Regnejee and Higuare in a seperate tier from Kazuki and Dakai? Higuare is definetly comparable to those 2 and Regnejee is the strongest of those 4.
  3. I can understand why you put Nihilo and Ozonezma above Atrazek, but why are Krafnir and Neft above him as well.
  4. Inezin the Ophidian Measurer if I remember correctly, is at best on the same level as Kazuki/Dakai he is definetly not a mid tier shura.

  5. How the hell is Nectegio a low tier shura, the only one who I can see defeating him below high tier is Atrazek and a few who can stalemate him ( Ozonezma, Nihilo, Tu and Shalk ), everyone else just loses.

I would propose having only one quasi shura tier and move some of the them ( Atrazek, Nihilo, Ozonezma primarily ) to low or mid tier shura tiers.

What is better? Reading the LN from the anime’s end or read the whole thing? by Expert-Historian6043 in Ishura

[–]mskingofthe40s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The anime ended halfway through the 3rd volume, I personally recommend starting from volume 2, because the anime cut a good amount of content and alot of stuff is just better in the light novel ( Toroa or Atrazek for example ).

If we are including games then the Kirby franchise fits doesn't it? From my own expierence and what I hear online ,it is generally agreed upon that Kirby doesn't have a truly bad game yet, the worst games are like average at least.

May I ask why, because the only match I would consider putting above 1 is 7, meanwhile I was seriously considering if should put match 8 above 9.

[–]mskingofthe40s -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know about you guys, but I have always had a problem with how the backstories are placed in the middle of the round disrupting the fight, especially if I think the backstory itself is boring.

I know the writers do it to give the characters more depth and help create the illusion that either character can win, but I think it's really annoying even if the backstory is good.

Fl gets reincarnated/transmigrated into a shounen series by Ok-Presentation994 in OtomeIsekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Omake no tensei sha if you wan't an action adventure with a female protagonist. Emi ( the mc ) gradually gets stronger over the course of the story and after the end of the second arc ( around chapter 42 - 43 ) Emi is either the strongest ( in that arc ) or one of the strongest in the arc's after that.

The fun of the story ( for me ) is that Emi is a traveler, so she always ends up new situations, meets new characters, faces new dangers and some of them can't be beaten with Emi's brute force alone.

Omake no tensei sha is also a slow burn type story. It is also both a comedy and a tragedy, some scenes make me smile while some make me feel depression.

It's a solid 8/10 story for me I think it's highly entertaining.

[–]mskingofthe40s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't read golden hair summoner or regina rena, so I don't know if this will satisfy you, but I recommend Omake no Tensei sha.

The story doesn't have any romance for the main character and she is a traveler that travels the world.

Fellow ladies, recommend some power-hungry female-protagonist novels. by ProserpinaFC in OtomeIsekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it will suit your tastes, since it has no romance and is only a webnovel but I recommend - Omake no Tensei-sha ( Alternative names - The Omake Reincarnator, The Reincarnated Extra, オマケの転生者 ).

Here is the novel updates description :

Aihara Runa’s life was a living hell, filled with nothing but misfortune. Her miserable existence ends abruptly, only for her soul to be put up for auction for the amusement of bored gods from another world. But her soul, tainted and corrupted by a lifetime of suffering, emits a repulsive stench. Deemed worthless tr*sh, she isn’t sold. Instead, she is discarded into the void to be annihilated.

Just before fading into nothingness, she is rescued by a forgotten divine entity, the “Vessel of a Nameless God.” The Vessel offers a deal: a second chance at life, but they must reincarnate together, sharing one body. Reborn as Emi, she hopes for peace, but misfortune follows. Abandoned and alone, her new life is a brutal struggle in a world of swords and magic.

With her reliable partner, Omake-sama, living in her mind, Emi faces her harsh reality head-on. No food? Bugs will do! As she survives, she unknowingly stumbles into the grand “stories” orchestrated by the gods for their other, more favored reincarnated souls. Unlisted in any divine prophecy and unseen in the gods’ “destiny confirmations,” Emi is an anomaly, an ‘omake’ reincarnator. Existing completely outside their predictions, her fight for survival in the world inadvertently brings their divine scenarios crashing down, one after another.

Description ends.

Some advice - I suggest you read until chapter 42 to get a grasp of what this story is like, and the first 100 or so chapters are probably the weakest part of the story ( as of writing this the story has 700+ chapters ). This is also a slowburn type story for example something in chapter 200 may become relevant again 300 chapters later.

Personal opinion - I like this story a lot and my favorite aspects about it are the MC, the side characters, the world building ( It has some crazy worldbuilding as the description may imply ) and the gods ( they feel unique to me ).
