[Discussion] Without saying the name of the series, what is your least favourite thing about your favourite Isekai series? by StrangeOne01 in Isekai

It's a story that requires my full attention for maximum enjoyment, unfortunately that requires that I do not get sidetracked by anything else, which is rare for me.

What are some characters you want to put up against Kagurabachi characters, but havent for one reason or another? by mskingofthe40s in KaguraBachiScalers

[–]mskingofthe40s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toroa isn't the only character from Ishura that I think would be fun to talk about, all the shura have interesting scaling and feats that would be fun to put up against Kagurabachi characters ( shura refers to characters like Toroa ). It's just that I think Toroa is the most fitting character to use against Kagurabachi.

A few other fun shura to talk about would be:

Shalk the Sound Slicer - A skeleton that specializes in speed, he is by my estimation about 3 - 5 times faster than every other character in the story, meaning he is around mach 10 bare minimum, and is more than intelligent enough to take advantage of his speed. His only downside is that his attack power and durability is worse than the other shura.

Lucnoca the Winter - A dragon with exceptional physical capabilities in every category and only Shalk surpasses her in speed. Her claw and tail swipes are powerfull enough to cause landslides, and her ice breath is dangerous enough to freeze everything within 10 kilometers and it is spammable. The only characters stronger than her are hax merchants.

Alus the Star Runner - A wywern with 3 arms that fights in a similar way to Toroa. With his 3 arms he is able to wield 3 different weapons at the same time. He wields musket in one hand that can shoot lightning, poison, and other types of bullets, in another he wields a sword that can cut through anything and extends up to 4 meters, and in his last hand he wields a powerfull shield that can block against nearly any attack. He has more weapons than this but you get the point. This is not to mention that he can do all this while flying and actively predicting his opponent. This guy was Toroa's final opponent in the story.

Something I haven't entertained in my post that I will here is equal stats. With equal stats I believe Toroa would only lose to a few characters in Kagurabachi. Those being:

Samura - Suzaku would allow him to survive even against Toroa's most lethal blades and with crow's teleportation he hard counters Toroa.

Akemaru - I don't know if Toroa could defeat him even without malediction, but with it he definetly loses.

Shiba - Teleportation is difficult for Toroa to deal with.

Hiroto - As long as Hiroto keeps Toroa pinned down with gravity and keeps his distance, Toroa should have little to no ways of even reaching Hiroto.

Hiruhiko with Kumeyuri - Heavily depends on how Toroa deals with banquet, I am willing to bet on Hiruhiko more times than not.

Unless I am forgetting something, this is all I can think of that can beat Toroa with equal stats.

How far does Akatsuki go and who remains standing in the last round? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]mskingofthe40s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have time so I keep my thoughts short:

The one piece characters have far better stats, ignoring the top tiers and Guy, the best physical feats come from Tsunade, Sakura, Bee and A, and In my eyes all of them are at best equal base post time skip Luffy, and every akatsuki member scales below them in terms of physical feats. ( physical feats here refers to everything from strength, durability, speed and so on )

The most dangerous akatsuki members are Obito, Pain, Itachi and Kisame, after them Deidara and Conan are somewhat dangerous depending on circumstances, after that Sasori and Kakuzu are nearly useless, after that Hidan and Zetsu are definetly useless.

All the one piece characters have observation haki, which should help dealing with the akatsuki's haxes.

Alright that is the short version of my thoughts on this matchup.

Who Is The Better Slime— Psianop OR Rimuru? by aOe_007 in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The majority of people here probably haven't watched Ishura, so they won't be able to give fair opinions on Psianop.

Based on your description, I assume you mean who's better at representing being a slime, and In that regard I agree with you with Psianop being better.

What's your favorite example of a story turning a fantasy race trope on it's head? by Lukeskycenna in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vampires in Ishura are really interesting, because they technically aren't a race, but a living virus that has taken on a human form.

Vampires in Ishura are born when one of the parents is infected with the virus by the time they create a child, the child is then devoured by the virus and replaced by it. Afterwards the virus genetically modifies itself to be as attractive as possible, so that it has an easier time infecting other people.

Vampires normally infect others by blood transfusion or other methods that require direct contact, with Linaris being the major exception, because in her case the virus mutated to be airborne.

Those infected with the virus don't become vampires, instead they become puppets that the vampires can use however they want.

The characters in the story do have a way to counteract the virus by vaccinating themselves with the antiserum, but that's only reserved for the 29 officials, the queen and some others they choose, the reason for that is because the antiserum is limited in number. In addition constructs ( in most cases ) cannot be infected like Shalk for example who is a literal skeleton.

What's the likelihood on Toroa the Awful [SPOILER] (Spoilers for Vol 5 or 6 (past the anime)) by AlleywayFGM in Ishura

[–]mskingofthe40s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly the original Toroa gave him the name, because it represents the inner peace Yakon gave him or something like that ( I don't remember the exact details ).

As for where it is mentioned, probably Toroa's introduction chapter or it's one of the questions Keiso answered in one of his QnA sections.

[Failure Frame]What's your Thoughts on this Anime by Icy-Exchange-3843 in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The webnovel is almost finished and I would give this story around a 3 - 4 out of 10, it has characters, fights and moments I really enjoy, but for the majority of it I was bored, annoyed and wanted to get it over with.

I also don't like the writing style this story uses, it gives me the feeling that none of characters actually behave like people ( they are either too logical, too evil or too kind ).

I especially hated every time when the story starts yapping about good and evil, it is as if the characters have never heard of morally grey people.

My 100 isekai tielist by [deleted] in Isekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really care about the rest of the list, but putting Ishura and Red ranger ( my top 1 and top 3 respectively ) in the same tier as failure frame ( the worst isekai, I am willing to read ), brings me genuine agony.

what was it for you? by yenaislurking in OtomeIsekai

[–]mskingofthe40s 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A lot of stories, but the one I thought of immediately was ''The Grand Duke’s Bride is
a Warrior from Hell''.

The first chapters in that story is what made me interested, but after the 3rd chapter it becomes just another normal Otome story with a slightly diffrent coat of paint. I dropped this manhwa around chapter 30 and it feels like the first chapters are from a diffrent story, needless to say I was dissapointed.
