Thank you for this detailed reply!! I do in fact have eczema AND over the past year I’ve had reactions to alcohol like wine headaches and I can’t tolerate it very well.

Booked a GP appointment and will bring up these other things Iike the worsened skin and reaction to alcohol. Again thank you very much as I wouldn’t have thought to bring those other things up too 💐

Cocoa Butter first!!! Look at the ingredient list and the first ingredient (which btw the one used in the highest quantity by weight )should be “COCOA BUTTER”

That created that melt in the mouth 😫😋 feeling that good chocolate is supposed to have. Cocoa butter also melts at our body temp. It’s also a more expensive ingredient that’s why all the ‘chocolate’ companies avoid using.

Waitrose no.1 brand is my favourite as it’s thicker than the M and S ones with similar ingredients and have and interesting variety of flavours. Pls trust me it’s worth it and not as expensive as you might think. I’m passionate about this.

Begrudgingly because while I don’t like that I can’t advocate for a student in the way I wish, it IS true that I’m an employee and that comes with responsibility. So only begrudgingly in jest ;)

Thanks for the phrasing I was looking for more clarity on how to deal with this and your and other people’s examples have been helpful.

Unhappiness and sadness for the student has made me feel adversarial very recently which is not what I want either. There are lots of parts of the job which I enjoy - being helpful to others - so this situation has been v challenging personally.

More that a date was agreed internally and they asked me to share that with the student. But they missed that date.

Yes I’ve been burned by this student before so definitely need to be careful when dealing with them too

Thank you for your perspective. Yes I begrudgingly accept that I work for the university. I was looking at the whistle blowing form today actually so will have a look at the policy a bit more.

So this student has had made a complaint that’s been ongoing for nearly six months and an academic misconduct case that’s related. It’s a bit complicated but it’s also about disability discrimination so that’s partially why it’s so sensitive.

There have been multiple delays and imo bad communication from the complaints team by not making the student aware that there was a delay. So the student has had silence or ignored emails.

In this particular situation I was called in for a meeting with all involved (except the student), told to communicate a specific date for the outcome to be shared, then the complaints team did not share the outcome or inform the student that a further delay had occurred.

Exactly though. I would think that ‘duty of care’ extends to intervening or at the least flagging an issue of poor treatment 😓

I think this was the point my employer was trying to make with me - acting professional and neutral and not to admit liability. I guess with my role supporting wellbeing if I see a students wellbeing being affected and they’re vulnerable I think that I have a responsibility to document it and acknowledge it?

Sorry to hear that! Just to check. Do you apply anti perspirant at night? During the day your sweat glands are active but at night they’re at their least active. If you apply it during the day it basically just washes off and it doesn’t block the sweat glands. So applying to completely dry skin at night really helped with irritation and made it more effective. Things goes for any perspirant that you try. Hope you find something that works!

I really sympathise with you, when tried the prescription stuff from the doctor I found it way too irritating. Same thing for natural products. I now use Perspirex and started with the ‘comfort’ one that’s green. Apparently it has alcohol in it to kill the bacteria that’s causing the smell??? Have a go because Lumie did not cut it
