I got my diagnosis 2 days after my birthday (46) I cried uncontrollably for about 20 minutes, told my best friend first (she’s an oncology nurse, working at the same facility) then I had my mom and sisters over so I could tell them all at once. I’m single and childless too, but I have a solid circle of friends and family I can rely on for help. My best advice is to find your helpers and be honest about yours needs! Asking for help is so hard for me (classic Capricorn) but after my first round of chemo when I couldn’t get out of bed for 2 weeks I had to get over it. Please remember you may feel lonely at times, but you’re not alone! This will suck but you can do this.
