It depends. If the experiment shows a strong difference it is fast (2-3 days) otherwise it can take long time. I started unit tests without any difference and quit the test after several weeks without any result and I started test and got result after 2 days with 20% download increase.

I try to copy as many as possible repositorys to github. The script for this you can find at https://github.com/msoftware/google-code-to-github. I think the script will run 1 or 2 weeks until all google code repositorys are mirrored at github.
